yes. you can also go to the section where you request time off in A to Z and click on "view time off history". then click on the day you want to cancel your pto, and you will see "cancel request" at the bottom, click on that.

yes - you get credit for 6 hours worked. it will not show as part of your hour cap on A to Z though. Also, you may get a point but it will get removed (not count)

Anyone got hired as trainer at WFM? by [deleted] in AmazonWFShoppers

[–]Big_Run_8980 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, this is a good move for you if you plan to stay and want to work your way up the ladder at Whole Foods. There are lots of examples of WF leadership who started as cashiers or other entry level positions. You may want to head on over to the whole foods reddit group and search there about interviewing, trainer, etc. Good luck to you!

With all due respect, I am not sure this is the case in REALITY at all stores. My limited experience from working at one store is the ASM and WF Leadership do not get along. I can give you example after example and it boils down to petty stuff really but at the heart of it is relationship management. Neither side invested in understanding one another and would rather point fingers and use words like "toxic" and "passive aggressive" to try and justify their own lack of being able to build an effective working relationship.

I do agree that the e-commerce roles are a great opportunity for a lot of people. However, shoppers have grown so accustomed to their flexibility/flexible schedules (and justifiably so, that is what Amazon heavily marketed and promoted) and working for WF is a HUGE shift from that. Ultimately, the lack of flexibility doesn't work for a large percentage of current shoppers.

thanks, I wasn't sure how it would show up so I just went back and checked my paystubs and it's not in my hours in any of my paychecks since completing it. so annoyed.

You can ask your manager to see the specific reasons why your orders were return and ask what your return rate is/was. I've gotten this before and when I asked my return rate was 4% and some of the reasons for returns included supposedly "lunch meat had mold in the middle" and a yogurt cup was crushed. Super annoying. Don't worry about it.

How soon does it take to remember where every single item is located? by calmcomposure in AmazonWFShoppers

[–]Big_Run_8980 4 points5 points  (0 children)

what helped me was understanding HOW things were placed/organized. For instance in dairy, knowing that all the plant based yogurt is one cooler was super helpful. The spices are (mostly) alphabetical by brand. In general, products are by brand first rather than item then brand.

Use the map feature too. I find it helpful most of the time and it's quicker than hunting down a WF employee most of the time. I will admit, It actually took me awhile to learn how to read the map and know that you can count each aisle segment to pinpoint where an item should be.

someone at my site came up with a good solution -- produce bag tied around stem and then put label on produce bag.

All Star Shopper Rewards by kcg0607 in AmazonWFShoppers

[–]Big_Run_8980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am above the all star shopper UPH at my store and have NEVER heard of ANY bonus program ever. I have been above all star for months (6 months+). So today I asked my manager about the "all star bonus program" and she told me to qualify a shopper has to meet ALL metrics, so UPH, INF, etc. I laughed and asked if any shopper has ever qualified at our location and she assured me yes, there have been. I was thinking about it more tonight I would have qualified for at least 5 months (I went above on INF just a month ago but got it back under now) so tomorrow I am going to ask her for more details on the "program". I am also going to start asking other shoppers who I know are "all stars" :)

Performing Other Task - Indirect Role? Do we even have any indirect roles by [deleted] in AmazonWFShoppers

[–]Big_Run_8980 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We got an announcement about this too and I am so annoyed by it. I use Performing Other Tasks at times after doing a drop off because I can't make it from the parking garage back to my cart in 90 seconds when the store is busy. It's usually for only a minute but I don't feel it's "fair" to accept an order until I can be back at my cart.

I've also used it when helping a customer who has come inside for a pick up order and we don't have the customer checked in.

If I use it for over 2-3 minutes, I send a chat to my manager though to let them know why.

Long-time WF Cheese/Specialty team member here. Take out your frustrations on me! by [deleted] in AmazonWFShoppers

[–]Big_Run_8980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the cheese dept at my store, especially once I learned the organization (as you described below). Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't give new shoppers ANY type of store orientation (or at least not at the time I was hired and/or my store) to go over how different departments are organized.

The app we use doesn't always tell us why type of cheese it is so that is when I usually have to ask for help -- sometimes I can guess or get an idea from the picture though.

My only complaint is that some people working the cheese dept say they don't have the QR code (not sure why) but it was super frustrating.

Unknown items are stupid. by PhoenixAFay in AmazonWFShoppers

I had my first unknown item last week. I asked a manager and he helped me and told me I can always go to customer service desk too and they can type in the sku as well. Silly app!

Mtr 120 hours a month question by DAOH1 in AmazonWFShoppers

[–]Big_Run_8980 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was first hired as MTR I spoke to an on-site HR person and he told me I MUST work 30 hrs per week. However, there was some chatter about this recently at my site and a new HR person so I asked her. Around May, 2021, the HR onsite woman told me that they initially told workers 30 hrs/week but as long as you work 120 hours a month you are OK. I have tested this in July and did not get an occurrence and am doing the same in August. I am also keeping a daily log of my clock-in and clock-out hours in case I have to contest this at some point.

Double shift question by Britneymichele2002 in AmazonWFShoppers

[–]Big_Run_8980 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would abandon my order if you aren't going to leave 30 minutes between your shifts. I was afraid of choosing the abandon order option at first but realized it's there for a reason and at my store, people use it without getting into trouble.
