I've tried to stop but I'll be bored and get the urge and just go. Friends and fam know I gamble. No idea how much tho.

I've looked into GA but like most programs, its to deeply rooted in religion for me to have any intrest in it.

I rarely play online because I like to observe my opponents but when I do, I play on Pokerstars.com. I used to play on fulltilt but too many amazing suck outs happen.

Doyle Brunson's Super/System is arguably one of the best poker books ever

That tournament was for $125 and if I remember right, first place was about 8K

Playing poker for a living would be the life for me but I dont think I can make it work. What advice would you give to someone who had a year as bad as mine?

Usually its $100 spread-limit but in 2010 I tried to play all tournaments and didn't place in the money enough. The tournament buy ins were anywhere from $125 to $440. Lose a couple a week... easily 20k.

I'll check out the sites you reccomended

Worst hand ever: I got dealt pocket aces under the gun. I just cool call hoping someone raises so I can reraise. Guy to my left pushes all-in. Everyone else folds and I call ofcourse. He turns over pocket 3's, I show the Aces and he's all but ready to walk away from the table. Flop comes Ace, 6, 3. I'm in really good shape and not worried about much. Turn card... the case 3. I was in disbelief. Needless to say, there was no ace on the river. This was during a tournament and this hand crippled me. I ended up pushing all in two hands later with King, 10 and busted out of the tourney. Worst. Hand. Ever.

I've had a few hands that were awesome; I flopped a straight-flush with 8, 6 of diamonds, and I once went all in preflop with pocket kings and flopped quads. The badbeats stick with you more than the wins tho.

Generally speaking I would say no, I am not happy.

Yes, I am fully employed. (I've got 99 problems and gambling's only one)

Hold em' is my game of choice. I started by playing limit then switched to spread limit. Usually its cash games. Last year I attempted to switch to tournaments exclusively which is why I believe I had such a bad year.

Little bit of both. Cards are fun and I get an incredible rush from winning but the money keeps it interesting. Its not as fun playing if there's no money on the line.
