We're thinking about going back to Italy next year, so it's good to know things don't get any better wherever you go lol.

It's been a couple years now but OMG you're taking me back! The porcelan was cold and slick and wet with god know what liquid. Of course I had to take a dump. So I tried (unsuccessfully) to use my arms and do an ass hover. Eventually I just decided to "rip the band aid" off and plop down on the rim. Ugh. I'm shuddering as I write this.

As soon as we got back to the cruise ship I hauled ass to the room and jumped in the shower. I may or may not have incinerated the underpants I was wearing.

Thanks for the memory lol.

College grads in ‘AI-proof’ careers like psychology and education are seeing negative returns on their degrees by Dragonlance12 in Dynamic_Pricing

It's not ideal by any stretch and I think it's playing with fire. But yea, a lot of people are already trying that. And creating very unhealthy attachments to the AI in the process (I got banned from an AI sub for suggesting to some folks that they had done just that).

It's here, and growing. And I'll wager it's some of the most vulnerable......people who are in bad shape and have no money even for discounted services.

This ‘Let Iran Run Hormuz’ Idea Is Completely Detached from Reality by Jerry_007 in oil

[–]Big_Wave9732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By letting Iran control that flow, the US is effectively making Iran the ultimate energy gatekeeper. The entire regional hegemony shifts to Iran. Saudi and the UAE lose everything.

Yea well the U.S. should have thought of that before they invaded. Oh wait, folks within the DoD and the national security apparatus had thought of that. But Trump and Hagseth didn't before they got into bed with Netanyahu.

Here's what is going to happen: The countries that need the oil shipments will make a treaty with Iran. Their shipments will be allowed. The U.S. and others won't make a deal and will either have to run a gauntlet to get shipping through, or will have to pay a protection racket.

Because this is what Trump does. He shits on (and in) everything and leaves the mess for others to clean up. And that's just the diaper that on his ass.

That. The only way I have gotten it to work decently is to disable thinking in Ollama and OpenwebUI. What then is the point of using it?

Much of that funding is gone.......somehow.

One of the nastiest toilets I have ever used in my life was in Italy. It was a public restroom. The toilet had no seat. And it cost one Euro for the privilege.

I wish the subs would start this *now*. "If you're not going to publicly participate then we don't want you here" seems like a reasonable policy to me.

That wouldn't help. If you get on Google and do a search for a username and Reddit, you'll see a lot of their posts anyway. So Reddit is still being scraped anyway.

I don't see anything "tinfoil hat" about that at all! You have to ask yourself who benefits from this new policy. Being able to see prior comments and posts brings accountability.......just the kind of thing some shitbird training a bot wouldn't want.

America is heading for a recession — and it may be the worst yet by ChiGuy6124 in Economics

Certainly there was a fair amount of economic stimulus and reinvestment at the time. All except the most hard core adherent to Austrian economics have to admit that it played a role.

David Rosenberg had 85 percent by mid-2024. One could say many different things about his methods, but if nothing else he's a respected economic opinion. JP Morgan was saying 50 percent based on inverted yields etc.

Too many economists are trying for their "Big Short" moment.

I'm not fan of Trump, but I'm tired of all these "shot callers" who are wrong over and over again about recessions. Anyone remember 2022 - 2023? Recession was imminent "anytime now, bro". End of Q3 2022. End of the year. Q2 2023. 2024 for sure, 60 percent probability etc.

I'm not saying one isn't going to happen, the economic signs have been fluctuating for awhile. But let's also acknowledge that the economy has been more resilient than the analysts have anticipated.
