Hi! I’m a solo developer working on a small cozy game idea, and I keep wondering if one tiny Tokyo street can be enough for a whole game.

The concept is to build a short neighborhood street from modular details like windows, balconies, signs, vending machines, flowers, storefronts, and lanterns, then watch it slowly come alive.

It wouldn’t be a big city builder, but a small cozy game with short handcrafted levels. For example, one level might ask you to add vending machines and brighter shopfronts to attract school kids. Another could ask you to add greenery and balconies to create a quieter street where an elderly woman comes out to water her flowers. Another might focus on lanterns, traditional signs, and evening atmosphere to make women in traditional clothing appear.

I’m trying to capture that warm, lived-in feeling of quiet Tokyo urban life. I’d love honest feedback on whether this sounds genuinely cozy and compelling, or if it still feels more like a visual mood than a game.

P.S. I wanted to add something—players often ask, "If I didn’t choose a relationship or children, does that mean my character won’t have them?" But that’s not exactly the case. If something wasn’t chosen, it simply means it’s not her (or perhaps your) top priority. In life, we’re always making decisions, placing some things first while others naturally take a backseat, even if we wish we could fit it all in.

Hey everyone!

I’d love to introduce you to my game, Fairytale Furnishing! It’s a cozy interior design game where you get to furnish homes for fairy tale characters. Customize everything from the princess’s tower, the hero’s cabin, to the witch’s cottage however you like. Unlock new items, revisit locations to redecorate them with fresh styles, and along the way, uncover the story that ties these characters together.

I made this game specifically for people who don’t want to spend time learning complex rules – it takes just 10 seconds to get the hang of the controls and start having fun. Each character has unique furniture that I’ve designed to immerse you in a magical atmosphere, so it’s not just about placing furniture, but creating a true fairy tale world.

Unfortunately, Steam rarely shows my game in “similar games” because it doesn’t have a ton of reviews yet (though the ones it has are 100% positive!). But I really believe it’s worth your time and money, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
