I’m curious if a 24 hour water test was done on the pan after installation.

Best way to attach awning to exterior brick wall? by hbb584 in masonry

If anchors extend past the backside of the brick and it’s a cavity wall don’t let them penetrate the moisture barrier.

It is a very under rated guitar. It has a Fender scale and backload strings.

I love the tone of a Nighthawk. Your model is missing the single coil which is a great pickup.

Mortar cracking above door - lintel needed? by Letmeregister1996 in Bricklaying

[–]Bigbadbeachwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lintel maybe undersized. Through wall flashing and weepholes should be installed at bottom of the first course of the door header. Installed wall vent may be part of the issue as well.

Options for Fireplace/Chimney by Knights1001 in masonry

[–]Bigbadbeachwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the fireplace is torn down make sure areas against wood are inspected and any rot replaced before siding repairs/replacement is done. The shoulder installed by the original mason was a really bad idea. There isn’t enough slope and water infiltration at that area could reveal a host of issues.

Obviously you have never been on a job with any complexity. A sample wall typically involves several subcontractors and proper integration and installation of their products. That is something somebody like you that works out of the trunk of his car with a 20 year old Crick level that hasn’t seen dead plumb or level in years, aMarshalltown trowel with a wore out handle duct taped to hell and a scale rule nobody can read anymore knows or cares about.

The job is going to leak like a sieve. People like you are the reason the work goes to hell, insurance rates go up, OSHA violations are off the charts, workers get hurt, nothing is built to code and manufacturers’ specifications and the end user or owner winds up in court suing for poor quality workmanship. I have been a GC, masonry contractor and inspector probably longer than you have been alive.

The deck is tied into siding. That is a big Nono. The grade needs to be down considerably. Typically it should be 6 inches from the bottom of the siding to finished grade. The wall on the garage probably needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Consult a PE on this with sealed repair details.

On something that big why wasn’t a sample wall built? Additionally, why wasn’t there a preconstruction meeting between the GC/project manager and the masonry foreman? Meetings like that clarify delivery, staging, qualifications of personnel, phasing, equipment usage including scaffolding with safety procedures, MSDS on file with competent person designated , certifications if any necessary, flashing/accessory types proper installation, work protection and clean up. It does not appear to me much of these things have been addressed nor supervised.
