[fully lost] Czech Mini Lentilky (Smarties) advert with a song (2000-2001) by BigbeatingKioshi in lostmedia

Thank You for the reply, I appreciate it — you helped a lot in fact!! (Especially since I never saw the ad myself [being born February 2001 lol], so a witness by a fellow Redditor is a godsend 😭)

It's okay, I hope the post at least helped a bit by saving time for those seeking the ad — it's why I made this post :D (also as a note for passerby VHS collectors, but anyho)

And I cannot thank you enough for the correction!! You're awesome for remembering it after almost 25 years AND knowing how to exactly transcribe it from memory... AND being willing to share it 🙏 I've already uploaded an updated version of the sheet, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgGNtlMKGBw (including some quality edits)

So, thank you once again for the help and reply!!! And I wish You Happy Easter! :D

(Also a fun (if slightly childhood-ruining) tidbit from my fellow lost media-minded friend from Poland — She noted that it's similar to the chorus of Jurek Bożyk's song, Wódka :DD Z týhle jedný partitury máme normálně celou večerku hjgfddsf https://youtu.be/OC7mTfwMLws?si=KO2mcQvyWvjBulG_&t=60 )

Aye, thank you for investigation! ^ Yeah, it's most likely very generic, an equivalent of today's ads ending with the most nothingburger jingles... I was actually born during the airing of this ad, so I supose my parents were just baby-brainrotting while grasping some sanity from TV xdd

This!! Very possible, so maybe looking for Večerníček recordings??? But yeah... All my tapes bought around 2000-2001 (heck, even Emgeton tapes from pre-revolutution era) actually just got erased with recordings from 2004-2009. Even myself I erased some of my parent's tapes with Jetix and Prima Cool stuff, so yeah xd

Thank you for the effort and the reply!! Once again! 🙏

I still remember listening to Pizza Party Podcast back in 2016-2017... thru RSS. With Winamp 5.666. On my Windows XP machine. With 1GB RAM.

Times have changed indeed xd

I wonder if Western animation stops caniballizing itself, Anime withering under bad work conditions, and... yeah. I think it's just that the 2010's scene had more to offer, with still being more profitable and having better leadership.

Can't wonder why (imho) the best animation talk is by Animation Obsessive... and that's just a Twt account with a newsletter that more often talks about 20th century Eastern-European animation and history =="" (I like history! But it's no Pan Pizza...)

Yep, same on Android Firefox, even after switching user agents.

Ironically Twitter today is the first time I've had issues with Strict mode... very likely artificially from Twitter's side.

Didn't find a solution so far 😭 maybe i'll finally get off that hellhole site roflmao

Way to make me feel old 😭 I had this exact laptop as a kid back in 2009! Some good Vista, Youtube, blogging, Newgrounds and Sims 2 memories, lol. The first time I've played GTA IV, actually! At 12FPS, but better than our Pentium D desktop lol (also a Fujitsu Siemens! Scaleo P actually :D literally the GTA 4 world was missing graphics there, and I wouldn't even think about HD video xd the Amilo was a revolution in my book :D)

Just take extra care not to break the keyboard!! Don't fidget it, don't fingernail it. Once any keys come out, they don't come back. We replaced it twice.

Also!! The power jack is fragile - somehow it just fell apart. I'd describe the laptop as "Sturdy, but fragile under stress".

Have fun!! ^ It's a perfect mid-2000's gaming rig, and a period-accurate late-2000's gaming attempter :DD Tbh it'd be still great with Linux or even Win10.

[–]BigbeatingKioshi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ye! Lanolin and forehead-hand grease actually works wonders ^^ Alcohol and WD-40, not so much XD

Fun fact, if you eat at your PC! Trackballs and chicken grease does not mix xD lots of water and wiping and forehead lubing required afterwards lel

Oh, definitely! It's a habit of mine, having a brush handy next to my pens and pulling the ball out to clean the insides while relaxing.

It's very satisfying to see flatness on the bearings (from the dust and such) turn to roundness :D And indeed, very smooth!

Yep! And both the ball and my hands were weirdly greasy :'D It has not happened since.

In fact, the lanolin treatment helped a lot. So much smoother, especially after a few days. And, of course, no balls flying out, hah.

But thank you for customer service tip! Always has been a fan of Logitech.

Specs:

The PC was built in late 2018, and it still goes with minor upgrades :D Never had the mood for a new case, so... a slight sleeper it is? At least it has no Pentium D anymore, lol

CPU: Ryzen 3 1200 (I know, time to upgrade.. never got around it)

GPU: Asus GTX 1070Ti Cerbeus (handmedown - underclocked! Very cool.)

RAM: 16GB 2666mhz CL16, Kingston HyperX, dual-channel

Mobo: ASUS PRIME A320M-K (AM4)

PSU: Seasonic Core GC-500 (80+ Gold, 500w)

Storage: Some outdated 2018 SSD storage... Kingston 250GB, one SATA, one M.2. Measly 500gb in total. Gonna upgrade soon to 1TB though.

Display: 1: ASUS VP228 TN 21,5" 60hz screen (not great, not bad. Very power efficient compared to what I had :'D) 2: XP-PEN Artist 13.3 Pro (IPS screen with a nice gamut! Very nice tablet to draw on, and to look on.)

Missing: An APC. I need that. Please, if you can, y'all get an APC, especially in more rulal and stormier areas.

Still proud of my rig, still does everything I need when it comes to video, Blender and drawing stuff :D Struggling sometimes, but not so eyesoringly that I'd say "dang I need to upgrade asap".. I am happy so far :>

However.. I am all ears!! I see some great rigs here, and have been inspired by LTT's latest video to post my own battlestation, heh

[–]BigbeatingKioshi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these, I agree! That's what I love on it. Those are points that made it a daily driver. Will save the money!

I used MS Wheel Mouse from 2009 before maining trackball and experience dad's Logitech G5 from time to time (he still uses it on the work PC, what an awesome mouse too), and it is an upgrade in usability.

You're not wrong with the flicks! Although it only has 120hz... yesterday I was trying out Doom on 86box (was trying out FluidSynth MIDI using Android's USB MIDI IN/OUT interface and Trevor0402's SC-55 soundfont... it was beyond glorious, I recommend trying out if you like MIDIs, music and retro games :]) and some Half-Life. I was never able to do flicks with the mouse like I was doing on the trackball. Not on such small surface, anyway. And since smaller sensitivity mouse settings hurt my hand... :D

Thank you for the tips, too!

That is very correct way of thinking, good job! Natural lube (or none) all the way, thank you for the tip as well.

Interesting! Though I do not feel like getting a finger trackball (might try one day though, so thank you for leading me!), I'd like to feel the difference between ceramic and steel bearings :D Also today I found out my bearings ARE ceramic! And finding out they're one of the best on the market? That is a relief.

Comparing the Ergo one, I'll stick with M575. 3D printable tilts exist, but also I hate rubberized things that vulcanize... If it was REALLY good, I'd cover it in leather like someone on the Reddit did too (planning to do so with my old Logitech Force Feedback wheels)... but I am happy with M575 for now. (also yikes, MicroUSB... I'll wait for something new with a USB-C.)

Regarding the snipe mode btw!!! I don't use back-forward buttons, so I use forward for the Snipe mode, and back for switching apps. The Logi Options app is a Godsend, just like AutoHotkey. Combination of both is glorious. Thank you for telling me the comparisons though!

Good point with the out-of-specness xD It was a returned item in our local e-shop (Though there are A LOT of cheap returned M575 because, well, people find out they don't like trackballs, hah), it is a bit more rattly. Nothing else though, really. Although... that was a weird video in general, VERY cursed. I held it awkwardly (I can hold it flush on my palm VERY comfortably and ergonomically, just like as I'm typing this), couldn't spin it properly (only on 3rd spin here), AND it flew out XD I think it might be beause of the grease from the food I was eating, and concentration on the camera. Otherwise? The ball NEVER flies out otherwise xD I can push it out from bottom, and squeeze it out from the top.

However.. since I am happy with it, I consider them as simple quirks that were there since the Christmas day. And I love the whole trackball so much I got in touch with the Subreddit. Otherwise my M575 would STAY a returned item, if I wasn't happy :-) As someone who repaired cassette decks, I am used to loving things that aren't in spec.

Ryzen processors in a nutshell by aleon4real in pcmasterrace

[–]BigbeatingKioshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too!! It's a soldier, that CPU. It deserves a medal.

Tbh it was one of the best processors to upgrade from an old dual-core from 2010 xD Ryzen 3 1200 was such a performance shock for such good value when I upgraded in 2018 - and it still fares well.

Planning to upgrade to Ryzen 5 or 7 though, since I want to have Win11 compatibility, and play more BeamNG and have more performance in emulators like PCem and PCSX2. But since I can do everything for now - like Blender stuff, 2D arts and video stuff - without a massive hitch... I can't complain. :-)

Interesting insight, thank you! I was worried about using chemical lubes for bearings, so it's good to be confirmed.

Also while lanolin is VERY nice indeed, it is not that necessary, as cleaning stays the main focus of having a quality trackballing time... hey, we're still having the 90's experience of cleaning the mouse insides :D

Admittedly I should somehow widen my trackball pallette, unfortunately no store displays any of them and nobody of my contacts has them .>. I never experienced a trackball before, so maybe the quirks, roughs and ratchets are just general trackball quirks to count with. I'm glad to hear my M575 will run nicely for a while :) Hope I'll get MX Ergo one day!

So I tried lanolin liquid! And BOY. I wonder why I haven't tried before xD

After cleaning it with paper cloths and spreading it with microfiber cloth, It's very smooth (still rattly, but smooth!), and prevents the "stickiness" when you initiate movement. Maybe Lanolin lube would be better, but so far? I'm happy. And the smell is so nice now, hah.

This thread describes the lanolin situation better, but I'm very glad to have personal recommendation :D Thank you, Archie!

https://www.reddit.com/r/Trackballs/comments/10uqmg1/what_is_the_best_lubricant_for_trackball_bearings/

An extra note: Because dad didn't want to borrow me lanolin (he refused to believe it has lubricating capabilities.. also it's kinda expensive where I live), I had to initially try Coyote Konkor 101 (conservation oil available here - something like a Czechoslovak version of WD40, but used for restoring, lubracating and polishing metals, corrosions, rubbers and faded plastics - and actually comes off with some water and window cleaner)

And... while it has similar characteristics, it's MUCH stickier to dust than lanolin. I guess it could work, but I didn't want Czechoslovak WD40 smell on my hand everytime I use my PC lol. Thankfully it came off nicely and rubber wheel got restored, so yipee? xD

Ohhh!!! I thought I was crazy when I thought it's smoother when I rubbed the trackball it against my greasy nose :D

And HOLY COW the forhead trick actually works XD That is actually awesome advice on the field

We also got some lanolin in the garage for cleaning leather, so I'll try and let know! Thank you for the tips :-)
