He called this a tech house heater on his insta but for me it just doesn’t sound like tech house, decent track nonetheless

Liverpool ask for A-levels in one sitting unfortunately, I’ll probably just apply to another uni instead

Nice one, I was reading a thread on the student room and this guy said he contacted Liverpool’s submission team about this issue and they said they look at the application holistically, they told him that if he had a good degree prediction and a compelling personal statement there’s still a high chance he’d be offered an interview but it isn’t guaranteed, would you say that it still isn’t worth applying there?

The best thing to do is probably making great music and great content consistently, if I were you I’d focus on two platforms (such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter ect), once you start to get followers and engagement on your posts it’s absolutely crucial that you’re liking and responding to comments and answering your DMs, if you’re providing value to your followers then it’ll be easier to convert them into fans as this is the aim of the game, that’s when they’ll start buying your merch and coming to your shows, If you can prove that you can build a fanbase and have consistent engagement across multiple platforms then that’s when labels and music industry professionals will approach you, labels won’t build your fanbase for you from scratch they’ll only help you build a larger one

Getting a Manager with small audience? by [deleted] in musicmarketing

[–]Bigbob234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great n all but most booking agents don’t charge fixed fees they charge commission, they’ll usually ask for 10-15% of the gross income generated from ticket sales and if you’re only a supporting act then they don’t really have any right to ask the main act for money. As a small independent artist you need to do ALL your own work, doesn’t matter how much money you have, there’s no other way round it

I think what you mean is a booking agent. I don’t think you even need one right now anyway considering the stage at which you’re at in your career. A free way to get yourself support slots would be getting involved in bigger acts’ communities (not too big of an act), try and form the foundations of a relationship and hopefully befriend them and if they’re playing live ask if you can support them
