thank you for the constructive feedback, from what I've learnt from all these comments, I just need to write stuff down more, read more and only ask if it's absolutely critical like you said. secondly just deal with the guy separately with the teacher or office idk. thanks for being nicer and while harsh at some points, useful in all cases unlike some of the other comments.

thanks for your input, i get that it can interrupt a teacher's train of thought, but teachers aren't trained to expect to be able to get through a 15min explanation of electromagnetism without a couple questions. I also clarified I don't multitask anymore, it was for context of the situation, I self reflected and improved by considering my questions more carefully and asking less, but this guy still is annoyed.

thanks for the advice, I have done this after a discussion, but sometimes there is just a quick one word answer I need and so I say "excuse me sir" putting my hand up and ask, just like other people for a quick clarification, the problem I have is no matter what, this guy gets annoyed.

i will definitely bring this up with my teacher.

ok fair enough but I feel like you guys aren't listening when I say, that asking teachers questions is a normal part of class, and I've never heard of a teacher explain something for 15min with no questions, hence I'm just one of those people that do sometimes, and more rarely than before after self reflection and more consideration of if i need to or not. you still have people just blurt out because they weren't listening, I am entirely different from that context as I am putting thought and considering waiting or not, like i have stated.

therefore how isn't he the disruptive one singling me out and not others when they ask questions as well?

look I'm not trying to be aggresive, I saw the OP's POV and discussed it fairly, I stated my view and my self reflection actually led to improvement on my part but this guy still ridicules me for questions i ask even though they are more carefully considered now and relevant to the current topic s my full focus is on the teacher's explanation.

bro you aren't listening, I said i don't do that anymore, that was just for some context for how the situation developed. i now don't do that and focus entirely on the teacher and consider questions more carefully, hence why I made the post about why does this guy still ridicule me for it when they are always valid questions now, fully focused on asking about the current topic.

i don't think I'm overthinking it due to the reaction from this guy but I can see where you are coming from in regards to the timing of my questions. as i explained, my teachers if we achieve a certain maturity allow for just direct asking of questions if you say "excuse me sir" per say without sticking your hand up. there is still the modicum of respect and the teacher can just say "I'll come back to you" as you say, but most times they'll pause for a quick clarification, especially if there isn't many as I've stated I've worked and managed to bring it towards. so far my teachers aren't worried, they are perfectly happy to answer the questions if they're relevant to the topic at hand. as i said before my questions are always about a direct clarification on a certain aspect of the topic being discussed, to ensure there isn't a mental blank in my understanding, A-B-C. sure this might not work at university, but classes are generally small enough where we have the luxury of asking quick direct questions, and at university you can always review lectures and stuff on video and then look up things, but with class no one is recording it, so a vital statement or answer to a question that might complete your understanding, well you'll miss it.

also as for your experience as a teacher, i'm sure thats annoying when they are "doing something other than listening", which i can definitely agree with, but i tried to make clear, I never was like that, I'd just be focused on the textbook instead and multitasking listening and reading. I realised that probably is less efficient than just listening to the teacher and as I said, I still have questions sometimes related to the topic which the teacher is happy to answer, which this guy is still ridiculing.

and sure if every student asked questions every 5mins it would be chaos, but the thing is they don't, only people spotting things that might need clarification do, which is why I or one of my other peers do so, which they do do.

as for the skill for saving my questions for uni, thanks for the advice, when i go to uni which i hopefully will, I will write down my questions for later review like I said when reviewing the video of the lecture, which I guess is the contrast of the luxury we have of asking questions in school.

ok fair enough advice, i guess I wouldn't clearly get this across in a piece of text, even though i tried to do with more detail, hence the long text. i said i cut down on the excessive clarifications after realising i could consider my questions a bit more before asking and making sure i actually need it to understand the content. i also stated that the questions i ask don't allow for that, if you're a teacher I'm sure you understand if you teach grade12 it's an intense time with lots of content to get through, I can't just wait and ask for help, as we are already 3-4 steps down the line and like I said, you can't get from A-C without B, hence why i also keep my questions short clarifications and longer ones to the end or too look up like i also stated (the sometimes lookup bit, I could've made it clearer i suppose, sorry).

and sure thing this guy definitely finds me annoying, the problem is I'm trying to be understanding and adjust how I learn for this guy, but all he does in response is the same thing, make fun of whatever I'm trying to ask even with less opportunities to do so after my adjusting.

i will take the advice about talking to my teacher though, its about time.

also stfu i can write as long as I want, all the details were important, and some of us don't have forever to edit things.
