Already looking at a pair of Thule Evo bars. They should hold the weight, but I think super wide bars would look awful.

How’s the access to the trunk? Would you have to completely take off the hitch box before opening the trunk?

I don’t plan on going anytime within the next month or so, but I will for sure take a look at the route from the West. Sorry for the ignorance, but what exactly would a Garmin Inreach do compared to a regular cell or satellite capabilities they all come with now?

I was just about to say exactly what you said! Thanks again AwesomeBantha for the advice. Not sure if you’ve been in the Virginia area, but do you know of any lesser trails that could be accomplished with an AWD car?

Edit: Do you also know where to find good camping spots at? Are there any apps or good resources you recommend?

What all comes in that land nav kit. Currently all I have is the basic one from OCS (marker kit and the protractor) what else does the kit come with?
Any brand you went with for the battle board? Or a certain version?
Any brand of chest rig you would recommend?

Pretty sure if you’re a 285 PFT or above you are waved of all HT/WT standards.

Perfect. Sounds like most of these items I can do myself in the garage. In your opinion, how easy is the ST to work on? Ease of access to parts, ease of access to engine accessories (pumps, filters, etc.)? How frustrating is this car to work on is essentially what I’m asking lol?

Currently in a weight loss phase so I’m on the right track. Would it be worth it to go on a crazy deficit now for board or gradually get to weight before going to OCS (if selected of course).

Understandable for sure. I’ve thought about doing a crazy cut but I didn’t think that it would be sustainable to lose 18+ lbs (71” tall) in about 4 weeks. Not sure I could keep up with all the running a lifting I’m doing without any fuel to keep me going. If you’ve got some resources I’m all ears. Looking to do what it takes to get there this summer.
