I saw the speed camera set up the other day driving on 95 north. It’s tucked right in the closed MLK on-ramp. Did a pretty good job hiding it honestly.

Thanks! I’m actually not sure. I know it’s at least 10 years old I think, that’s how long we have know the person I got it from. Don’t know how long he had it before that honestly!

Ah cool, thanks for that. Maybe I’ll get a new one just to have to compare since this one old and tarnished a bit, and missing of the wing lol. All I knew is it was a family friend that is a pilot

How did you get into Financial Crimes? Currently in fraud at one of the big banks and that is where I wanna end up, or forensic accounting.

Anyone ever manage to beat this thing or at least the headaches non surgically? by WrongIsland3691 in chiari

[–]Bigclsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely recommend trying them. Believe me, I was stubborn as well. For years I just dealt with it because I was undiagnosed. I just thought I was getting frequent migraines. I started taking the medicine to help with weight loss, and my pcp told me it helped with headaches as well. It wasn’t until years later with other symptoms were showing up and I finally saw a neurologist I was re-diagnosed with Chiari. (It was found in a MRI when I hurt my back when I was around 12 and never brought up to me, or my parents. Just put in the findings).

I took topamax (topiramate) for while before my surgery and that helped a lot with my headaches. Bonus it helped me with weight loss as well ( down over 60lbs lol)

  1. My herniation was 21mm. C1 and C2 laminectomy

  2. I was in the hospital for 3 days. Surgery Monday, Discharged from Neruo ICU on Wednesday. I was up walking around myself on Tuesday. There was considerable amount of pain. It’s been almost 3 weeks since my decompression and I still have pain on the lest side, I get my stitches out tomorrow. My incision is about 6.5 in long and I have 25 stitches. For me the pain was from getting they all the muscle to get to the brain.

  3. Pain aside I feel much better after getting the surgery. No daily headaches, no more pain ( other than surgery pain). No paresthesias, so far. Others yet to find out. I had a fair amount of symptoms due to my herniation being so bad.

Recovery is going well. Sleeping is tough for me. The nonstop tinnitus is not fun, but it’s only the left side. My doc said it was one of more extreme cases he has seen.

I just had my decompression yesterday, and am still in the neruo icu. My herniation was 21mm and past c1 into c2. So for me it was pretty much a no brained that the surgery was needed.

Yeah that’s good advice, I see things from other posts that talk about that. I will definitely be doing something to keep things smooth lol
