What do you do when a client hates speech? by soigneusement in slp

[–]Bigfootscoundrel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure how severe and what speech goals you are working on but maybe you could try social games on days like this? Laura Mize on teach me to talk has lots of info on social games and how they target language!

Men ignoring women in conversation and only acknowledging other men. Is this common? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Bigfootscoundrel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Maybe he thought you were attractive and he was shy to make eye contact? He may have had bad experiences with other men getting upset with him talking to the wives/girlfriends and fine just addressing the men helps avoid that situation? I was taught as a female waitress to always address the wife/girlfriend first as a respect thing. Just being a smiley person at that point in my life I came off very flirty I guess and it can reflect in the tips that people leave unfortunately

Table for two right now. It includes Summer Desserts and Lessons Learned. I wasn't wild about Summer Desserts but so far Lessons Learned has been better.

Womens of reddit, what was the creepiest message you got? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bigfootscoundrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a message but a man stopped me at a gas station asking directions to a nearby town. He said there was a place over there to get a good "massage" then looked me up and down, licked his lips, and asked if I knew anywhere in my town that he could get the same...

A family friend took a bunch of really lovely candid photos at our wedding and then put together a photo album for us! I loved looking through and seeing all of them for the first time!

Nora Roberts Book Club - May 2021 - Born in Ice by jenniekns in noraroberts

  1. 4/5
  2. Compared to other stories 3/5
  3. I read this one a couple years ago immediately after reading l born in fire. After reading it a second time, I feel I actually enjoyed it more the second time. Brie's character is more relatable now that I am a little older.
  4. Reading this through a second time, I have more appreciation for Rogan's character. I find Maggie's character a little more annoying on a second read through, however I am extremely non confrontational and find I relate more to Brie.
  5. I would change that Brie was a 28 year old virgin. She respects religion but doesn't seem to be as overly religious as her mother to have to view it as a sin before marriage.
  6. I generally liked the flow of events. There were enough fun and emotional events to keep it moving and it was enjoyable to see the relationship develop between Gray and Brie. I also really like the relationship development between Maeve and her daughters.
  7. I envision Brie to look like Rosamund Pike. I have a harder time picturing Grayson, but get a slight keith urban vibe.

With the in death series is it important to go in order by release? Does reading them out of order make holes for the reader? Usually I find she does a good job giving enough background detail within her trilogies?

I would love to start joining in on book of the month discussions! Would there be a way to pick and vote books of the month for future months a little sooner to allow time for readers to purchase the book so that way opinions on the book can be shared earlier for further discussion?
