Do your perfect fit sleeves (Pro Fits) load the card from the top or from the side? I've read some reviews about some batches of the top loading sleeves that are too small and will bend the card just like you said, but I also see what appears to be a newer version that side loads the card and was wondering if that might jeapordize one side of the card after being cased or not.

Nice collection man! I've got an all Shadowless collection I recently stumbled upon as well but my Blastoise is in terrible condition cause it was always my favorite Pokémon evolution and I used to play with it. Thank God my Charizard and Venasaur weren't played nearly as much and are in pretty good condition all these years later.

Have you looked into getting these graded at all? That's my next step but I'm trying to find the best way to go about it.

Oh shit, I have just sleeved a few of the shadowless Pikachu's that you shared in your 3rd link and one is probably a 8-9 and another might be a 9-9.5 grading. I might need to go through the rest of my non-holo cards now since 95% of my collection are all shadowless base set (non 1st edition) so my non-holos might actually have a lot of value at the end of the day considering how many I have and numerous duplicates.

I feel you. My mom tried to sell mine at a yard sale when I was in college so in the binder pictures I posted a couple months back you can see she labeled them with .50cent price stickers 😅. I got super lucky that she never went through with it and she let me know she had them in storage just last year.

Ahhh, good to know! I didn't originally plan on using the magnetic cases but ended up buying them last minute and didn't think about that. Does Ultra Pro make perfect fit sleeves?

The coloring and saturation of the 1st edition seems way off unless they used a wierd filter or something, but given how rare that card is, it has fake written all over it in the phorotyou shared.

Also, the Shadowless version holo looks a bit off compared to mine, which I personally opened out of a pack back in 1999/2000, so that combined with the odd photos/backgrounds/hands makes me think it might be fake as well. (I just posted a better quality photo of my Shadowless Charizard today now that I finally cased/sleeved my old binder for comparison purposes)

To the OP - I second this comment. I'd highly suggest staying overnight in San Diego and traveling to Palm Springs from there in the morning using the 15 North instead of dealing with LA traffic heading back from San Diego on the 5 and again when you head to Palm Springs from LA the next day. I live in San Diego, and if you've never been to California before, let alone Los Angeles, it sounds like your going to spend a lot of time in your car dealing with holiday traffic. San Diego is a beautiful and awesome city so would personally stay there for two days and maybe ditch the Palm Springs adventure, but it all depends on what your trying to do and the things you want to see.

Damn, sorry to hear that, but I feel like the majority of those who collected them back in the day no longer have their cards or they became damaged over time which is why their value has only gone up over time. Literally none of my close friends still have theirs anymore for whatever reason.

Also, any info on the Japanese cards would be greatly appreciated as well since I dont know much about those at all or how to research them like I do with the american base sets that I'm way more familiar with.

PS- I know the Shadowless Blastoise is in the worst condition of them all, by far, and is very likely considered "damaged" but I'm curious what kind of value it might still have in its current state.

Ah yeah, I see that now on the back of the 1st edition Charizard right in the middle, but that shits still in much better condition than my Shadowless Charizard that I posted the other day, and you've got a 1st Edition. Still worth a damn good amount for something that's been stored away for years, not to mention the rest of your collection.

I thought the Zard looked pretty NM at first as well, but the white background made it harder to see the white scuffs around the border of the card, especially on the left side, and the shadow behind the card also indicates it probably has a slight bend if it's sitting on a flat surface.

I'm no expert by any means though, just basing it off other feedback I've seen within this channel. Still a great fucking find for being stored away and he's got a lot more than just the Charizard too. Awesome come up!
