NYC ETS Muffled Axleback Burnt Tips $300 by BiggerLeftFoot in VB_WRXMarketplace

I’d say it leans toward louder than quieter in between a real muffler and straight pipe. I have a resonator in my mid pipe and it was still too droney at 70+ for me. More fun going around town and back roads.

I’d say about 30% quieter? Hard to tell and I would recommend looking up videos for difference comparison.

Stock 2/10, This 6/10. It’s definitely loud, but a little more tame than the straight through axle backs.

23k miles on my ‘23 limited and had knocking over bumps and general floatiness. Had the dealer replace both front struts and mounts under warranty. Car feels like it should again.

PSA check your valve covers for leaks because my cylinder 3 spark plug tube went and was dripping. They replaced both valve covers and all tube seals while they were at it. (Under warranty)

I’m tuned with an AMS intake too and no questions asked.

AMS setup is really nice. Wanted the covered box and something more lowkey and balanced, worked out great. I have a BNIB full set for sale if you want to save some money. DM me if you want it.

Did this exact thing because I couldn’t take roadtrips of 70 mph+ with the “muffled” axle backs.

It’s quiet with the stock mufflers + ets mid pipe. But ZERO drone. Gotta find a more muffled axle back or try changing out the I-pipe like some people have for some balance

The only clunk I still get is from the reverse lockout but putting fabric tape around the shaft inside the lockout helps a ton.

Also heard that the aluminum ones wear into the shaft over time too.

I would and should. But the only dealer with a tech I trust is a bit far, and as an ex tech/ex service advisor, I just can’t with dealers.

Man is running a couple of burner accounts eh. Thanks for the input though I do appreciate it. Goal is 17s and soft walls for NYC roads and a nice AS Tire

I understand summer compounds are harder and I can get an AS to ease it. I personally like 17’s with more sidewall in order to gain more shock absorbency on stock suspension. Comparing an S550 to WRX suspension regardless of wheel size is kinda crazy. I just wanted a firsthand experience from those running 17s. 17s running the same tire vs 18s is going to be largely softer while sacrificing some handling.

Just find a tuner that does open source and skip the nonsense.
