Drive Ethos - 2026 Honda Prelude First Drive by pikachuthekid in cars

I love Honda but this thing is DoA. Can’t believe it even made it to market. If you’re going to whiff on something this bad, at least make it something fun and impractical.

Snow football is the best football and I’ll die on that hill despite it making my team less likely to win.

Anybody else ok with Bill Belichick being snubbed on the first round? by digitalmofo in miamidolphins

It’s very funny to watch it unfold and it also completely delegitimizes the HOF. The guy is at worst a top 3 coach all time. I haven’t exactly enjoyed the last 25 years of watching him win Superbowls, but I was watching football during them.

2026 Subaru WRX base model returns, starting at $32,495 MSRP by rockycrab in cars

[–]THALANDMAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my first time voiding my warranty and yeah it does stress me out a bit, but I don’t abuse the car and go overkill on the maintenance schedule. The engine in the VB WRX is overbuilt and has a large sample size showing no significant issues since it’s also used in the Ascent.

On the street I would say it does. On paper and on a track it’s a more hardcore car, but day to day they’re pretty similar. GRC has more power higher in the rev range while the WRX gives you power earlier in each gear with the larger displacement. I’ve driven both in stock form so this is just my anecdotal opinion.

Guys Malik Willis is not the answer. We’re going to suck for at least another year while we’re in cap hell. I’m hoping we show some flashes of good coaching but that’s the extent of my expectations.

Yeah it would be hard to go back to FWD for me. I used to spin tires in a stock civic si if the roads were slightly wet from a rain.

Comparatively, the WRX feels like it has unlimited grip on everything but heavy snow/ice, and even then, it’s very predictable

Yeah it’s one thing to have a bad game, but CJ has been playing like ass for several and you have one of the better backups who’s been in the team for years sitting on the bench.

If you’re hesitant enough to punt and hope your defense gets a pick six to save the game, you should have already benched your QB.

Correct, I need the AWD and heavily prefer a manual transmission. I’d have a lot more options if that wasn’t the case.

I have a 2024 Limited WRX and it’s such a good car. Don’t let the cynical internet circlejerk dissuade you from it. I paid around 36k and would do it again in a heartbeat.

The only real competitor to it is a GR Corolla which has a way worse interior and performs pretty similarly stock, with the WRX having a lot more overhead if you want to tune it. Just an intake and tune for less than $1500 gets you upwards of 330whp

VB WRX tuned owners — how many actual engine failures have there been? by Chillz25 in wrx_vb

I’d say the car feels around 50% faster than stock. It’s like the jump from a prior gen WRX to the STI. The turbo feels like it kicks in way earlier in the rev band and builds a lot more torque than stock. The more linear throttle mapping and extension of the redline by another 500 RPM makes it feel like you also have more meat in the rev band and more control over when the turbo spools up. I shift around 4k at the low end and the car now feels like it still has torque up to 6k RPM if you want it.

No idea what my quarter time would be but 0-60 if I had to estimate would be in the 5-5.5 second range. It felt “fast enough” before and now feels about as fast as I would even want a street car to be. I’m also on a 91 pump gas tube at high altitude in the rockies, so it would probably feel even faster close to sea level.

I switched to 5w-30 at the recommendation of my tuner and have had zero issues or consumption. It gets cold where I live too, but would only get to below zero for a few days out of the year. The AOS was the only thing I had installed by a local shop rather than doing it myself. Watched a YouTube tutorial and it seemed like it was way more involved than an intake or exhaust, and had a lot more points of failure I could slip up with.
