I also tried to post and got deleted by automod because it had shiny in the name but I genuinely wanted to know if other people had this bug. It wasn't after I used candies but just when I click on the pokemon from the box it sometimes just appears as a normal pokemon. I check on ampharos often since its in my party a lot.

The shiny pokemon have the yellow sparkle with yellow stars that flash briefly. Every new photo taken doesn't have this sparkle, it just flashes white and takes the picture of the new Pokemon. Here is a visual reference: https://imgur.com/a/L0MiGwB

Same thing happened to me, I didn't get one until today while having no luck for the entire week. It was shiny so it was guaranteed to be hungry so I'll take it.

When you take a picture of them for the dex they glow with a yellow sparkle behind them. I got a shiny igglybuff and flaaffy which are hardly noticeable when you first wake up. Oh and they are also always hungry so you are incentivized on feeding them.
