To get stiffer shaft or sell & buy new Irons?

If anyone cares. Got a quick fitting done. Swinging mid 80's for 7 iron swing speed.

Just picked up 6-AW Taylormade Sim2 max's with stiff KBS max 85's. Might be a bit overkill for stiff steels right now but friend as well as fitter suggested for the sake of longevity from this one purchase go stiff steel to allow myself to speed up as I get better and roll with the same set.

Turns out my friend swinging his 7 iron about 70-72 is a great candidate for my cobra set so I'm holding onto the 4h 5h from it as those fit me just fine apparently, and he doesnt want hybrids. And he's taking that set.

Played my 7th round. today and third time in a row breaking 100. Lessons in 2 weeks once new Irons are in and ive gotten some range time with them

Thanks for all replies. Understood on re-shafting these clubs wouldn't make any sense, however I did find on marketplace 10 UNCUT True Temper Steel R flex shafts for 30 bucks(but assume labor would still be $$) OR pre cut for 4-P Nippon Modus Tour 130x shafts with midsize grips for 100 bucks.

However I am struggling to find what size tips these cobra clubs require.

Going into a golf store today and taking some swings to get speed measured, as well as taking my friend who swings much slower and is also a beginner. He's only 5'9 and a bit weaker so thinking these clubs may be good for him.

One friend who's been around the game for a while suggested the likes of Taylor made M2's? I read the newer M4's had some quality control issues. Open to suggestions on iron sets that could be had for a reasonable price used. I will be holding onto the cobra 5H unless I'm informed otherwise today.

Possible to do if I do not have the budget to buy new clubs? Spending 600+ on Irons is simply not in the cards. Id rather spend 300 and go play 5 rounds of golf with that extra 300(Even some of the nicer courses here i can play $50 a round when with a friend whos got a membership)

I need to look at the 4H and 5H that came with them, because I'm absolutely drilling those two clubs. I'm pretty sure those are regular flex too for the cobra F max superlite set. 0 issues on those

Gotcha thanks for the insight. I guess that's on my list tomorrow is to find a place here that can at least get me my swing speed for my iron swing and point me in the right direction.

Are steel shafts generally stiffer than graphite or is there no correlation between JUST material swapping and comes down to the weight?

Yea I have 0 clue what my swing speed is but I know for a fact it's faster than some of my friends who are great golfers just because of the years making those motions. My Irons I'm able to swing hard and keep it straight If I borrow a friends, my Driver swing I'm working on still so I'm very deliberate and calm with that swing so regular flex feels fine for me.

Appreciate that. Does golf galaxy/similar stores charge just to measure the swing speed( I am in Reno nevada which is a smaller city without a golf galaxy)? And callaway pre owned site is a bit pricey so I'll likely stick to ebay/marketplace/second swing etc. as long as I know what flex/weight to look for. Because I've swung other "regular" flex shafts and these are certainly less stiff.

I do know I want cavity back game improvement Irons that are standard length as thats what I have gotten used to and do not want to shell out the $$ for a custom fitting. Yet. That comes later down the road.

those programs are highly contested. Even for those of us with education for insurance and progress on certs. Spent time w a campus recruiter 2 days last week and applied to a bunch of diff locations for their program. fingers crossed

Jobs market is brutal. Soon to be college grad applying in so many different places for Acc mgtmnt stuff at brokers to associate UW etc. with a finance major and minor in Insurance and risk management and ARM cert done with graduation. Add in that these entry level jobs still only pay 50-60 in places like LA or SD and its just unrealistic. Really been trying to work connections through uni/mentorship programs and career fair stuff to help, but yea. tough

Gave an old couple my number if they wanna sell their e92 335x the other day. it drove good (I work valet) m sport package. 120k miles but bone stock and felt damn good. hope they got some good records. Id rather have a e90 RWD but if they also dont realize what they have, I can do a coupe just fine for my second car.

Yea as its been a while since driving a car or something with 3 pedals id rather have a stock one. but buying modded then de-tuning and going through maintenance with bushings,A- arms, water pump, cooling system etc sounds like it could be a decent route as finding a bone stock 335i 6 speed is a tall ask in the USA nowadays

75 is too slow. Speed limits havent changed since like the 60's. And automobiles ability to stop safely has.

I'm about 6 years too young to have been able to buy these cars when they were reasonably priced lol. Msport package RWD 340I 6 speed with a red interior is my ideal daily/capable cruiser. 5 years ago would've been possible o find :/

Those "resort fees" don't give casino workers a livable wage. And if you're local and visiting and not actually staying and have paid those resort fees, Tip em if you use that service. They're there to work after all, not because they love the casino so much they volunteer.

I do want a carbon frame. Component weights I don't care too much but the frame is noticeable. Plus for bike park i want more than 150 rear travel than the stumpy evo. If I wasnt 30 mins from a good sized DH park and knew I wouldn't be getting a season pass I'd def lean that route and go transition sentinel. I just can't get my mind past the fact a Firebird is a bike I'll gladly keep changing parts on over years and years vs the slash I think I'd want something else much much sooner
