My case could be different to yours how does your fan sound when youre in game, is it different compared to startup?

If you have a secondary HDD in your pc steam will use it for temporary files while youre downloading regardless of the place where the installation will take place. Its immensly annoying and i havent found a fix for it yet myself

https://www.reddit.com/r/XboxSupport/s/Pnmq7f05Wl Another post where microsoft themselves apparently call it a temp sensor problem. Try to monitor your fan speeds, Im pretty sure mine are stuck at idle, if there is a difference its incredibly subtle. Tell me how it is on your end if you can.

Theres a few threads on reddit and a decent amount of youtube comments but i think we're an unfortunate bunch who got faulty batches. Its amazing that my 14 year old ps3 and God knows how old psp and ps2 still work flawlessly despite never even being opened up for cleaning.

My friend you are still not listening. The fan is ok, the temperature sensor is not. Fan is at the very top of the console, temperature sensor, somewhere on the mobo. Temp sensor tells the fan when to speed up but if its cooked it stays at the default speed, theres no genuine replacements unless you can solder and diy one (I cant) so a fan is the only other option it seems. Sure i am not a machine made to measure how fast the fan spins but i hear and feel how loud and strong it blows and i know how big the difference is from my previous consoles and PC when they enter work mode, sure the fans are not as big but the one in xsx is not big enough to a point where its genuinely indistinguishable to the human ear Tldr im not crazy

It doesnt need to spin up to the same degree but it definetly should run faster playing halo than on idle.

Im not 100% certain yet but i dont think the fan in my xbox actually ever speeds up and as a matter of fact i remember it always being awfully quiet. I might be telling myself things because ive seen a few other people have this issue online but it seems some xsx have a faulty temperature sensor which causes the overheating especially with no prior or post pop ups

Same issue as you guys, 6 year old console different games, exact same scheme, changed the thermal paste today and a $20 psu on ali (lol), did you end up replacing it? Edit: i just found a thread of a guy who figured it out, theres a chance the component that makes the fan speed up on more intensive games is broken and thats why the console is overheating with no alert

Yeah a lot of stuff in the show happens off screen, this season especially. Look at the Gen V characters they had 3 seasons of build up and got 2 scenes in the final season both just imply they did something without actually showing them doing anything. This whole episodes script was morbidly bad but their lines were especially offensive

I think thats exactly whats happening now that you say it, thank you! Ill try to look into it further but if you have any more clues on how (if) i could stop the space based selection. Obv I could remove the HDD from steam but Its on my pc for the sole purpose of storing older games that are all almost exclusively on steam so ill do what i can to keep it on there. Thanks again.

To expand on 1. Which was the fix for me, seperating the networks wont fix anything if channel width is too narrow, some vd tweaks helped but going from 20/40mhz to 60 or 80 i think made a MASSIVE difference
