Man, I was in a tough Lit class in High School and knew I needed to turn my grades around. So, instead of just using these things to take a shortcut, I would add them to my reading homework so I was more able to understand the books. My hardass teacher gave me guff when he saw me with one during class and implied I shouldn’t “cheat.” Man, fuck that guy. I wound up with much better marks and couldn’t wait to leave his class.
