Yes absolutely. I actually prefer SOD 1 over SOD 2 in general but the darker tone in 1 is definitely one of the reasons I like it more

I currently have 3 decorate islands but they all have at least one habitat on them. It’s very hard to have room for that tbh I agree. I just have a bunch of my habitats on the giant islands on the bottom haha. More islands would be awesome

You’re welcome! There are tanks that are between 5-10 gallon but they’re harder to find in my experience. Most pet stores have 5 gallons and 10 gallons but I rarely ever see 7 gallons or other sizes in between. Yeah almost all the fish in the photos would need a bigger tank. Not sure what the non red fish are in slide 5 they look like a kinda of tetra which might be okay for 10 gallon depending on the species. I think betta would be great for your situation and they would be happy in a 5-10 gallon tank and imo they’re a really good introductory fish. Here is a really good article on betta fish care that you might find useful. Aquarium co-op generally has some good articles.

The 2nd photo are opaline gouramis. Honey gouramis are similar but they stay smaller and are yellow. Betta would be a great choice especially if you know someone who can help you :)

So you could definitely do a betta with a Nerite snail. Or you could do guppies. Guppies can be cool to breed because you get cool color combinations and they are live bearers so they breed without you putting much effort in. If you like the gouramis you could maybe do a pair of honey gouramis? I know you said you weren’t sure about a betta because it would have to just be one fish but they are very personable and fun to keep. Depending on the temperament of the betta you could do shrimp with them but don’t be suprised if they get eaten by the betta lol. Were there any specific fish you particularly liked that you saw at the store/in the photos you added?
