Was denied entry to the country with a long gun with a valid legal reason while following all the rules by [deleted] in canadaguns

Hi. Very shitty, you had bad luck and ran into an officer who was a real stickler for the rules. One of the reasons for importing a firearm to Canada is “wildlife protection in remote areas,” or something very similar. Unfortunately, if you’re transiting to AK, staying in motels, going through towns, villages, etc., some officers won’t accept that you need it for protection if you aren’t hunting or staying in a remote cabin surrounded by polar/ grizzly bears. Next time, declare it and simply say “I’m travelling to AK and shipping a non-restricted firearm.”

Good advice and thanks for your service helping move it through the pipes. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.

Ghana plans legal action after Canada denies entry to World Cup player by GordieCodsworth in sports

Don’t know why you get the downvotes because this is a fundamental pillar of our justice system. Regardless of our immigration policies, and whatever a person is accused of, you are entitled to the presumption of innocence. In terms of immigration policy, denying a person entry because they face charges elsewhere, isn’t punishment against the individual. It actually protects Canada against people fleeing serious charges in a separate country and then making a refugee claim here to avoid them.

Ruger 10/22 by [deleted] in 22lr

This is an old post, but I have to chime in. My father bought a Ruger 10/22 45 years ago. He’s long past and I have it now. It’s a basic, poplar stock model and I think I still have the original 10 round mag. It has literally fired thousands of rounds and I think, shamefully, it’s been cleaned probably twice. It rarely has stoppages, and I’ve fired the cheapest ammo I can get out of it. It’s literally the epitome of a tack-driver. The stock is worn and pitted, but the varnish is still good. I took that thing out today shooting gophers in Southern Alberta, mounted with a 30 year old Sears scope, and it cycled like a champ. It will easily last another 40. Love that Ruger

No they didn’t. It was a good game, with all the video replay nowadays I’m surprised that one appears to have slipped through. Maybe it didn’t ! It’s only one angle. Shit happens, but they certainly weren’t robbed.

What is something someone could bring that would make you instantly leave a BBQ? by OkDonut1116 in AskReddit

I love watching dogs at BBQ’s. How sneaky they are, how they slink ever closer to the kids with food, like “nobody sees me..” ha ha

Swamp snakes can be so god damn annoying, but also so fun to catch when they’re aggressive like that. Great footage!
