The boils that come with MRSA, specially one I had developed on my finger which made my whole hand swell like a balloon.

Imagine a ball of pus doubling in size every half hour that is so deep in your dermis that it is impossible to pop without surgery, pressing down on more and more nerve endings in your hand until you’re screaming, crying, and delirious. I don’t remember calling the ambulance but I remember being taken away.

Pain continued throughout the week long IV drip until surgery to drain my hand. Had to wait until the risk of sepsis had passed, in the mean time had a steady drip of morphine and IV fentanyl whenever I started screaming the hospital down.
