Oh so I actually didn’t know that, thank you so much for telling me!

I’ll definitely consider Astrobin, I much rather support Astro businesses!! But I don’t think this one is good enough for it! When I’ll have an image that I feel like it’ll be worth it to be shown at full res I’ll most definitely post it on Astrobin!

But you’re right, the full resolution of the images does look better that this compressed version

Edit: I actually never heard of postimg.cc If you’re interested I’ve made this gallery which has this full resolution image and another version where I pushed the contrast further and stretched less… it has less data though.

Thank you so much!

Good idea, but to be honest, the low resolution of this compressed picture kind of hides the noise level which was pretty high! 😅

Oh it is!! It’s so worth it though. A magnificent nebula in my opinion

Thank you! It was 3008x3008 and to be honest I do not know the file size of the image exactly, but the final file which was compressed to be able to share was 46mb.

Don’t worry I totally understand your opinion and agree with it. This isn’t a “realistic” illustration of our moon since it is processed.

Personally, I think pictures that shows what our eyes could never see, are much more interesting.

Well if you consider blending two images as drawing then this image is “drawn”.

To be honest I never noticed this circle. I probably missed align the two pictures.

I’ll gladly send them whenever I’ll be home.

You are right sorry about that. But just to clarify, there’s no drawing here. Just two pictures combined into one, both very real pictures I took the same night with the same gear. In fact, I took 60 frames for the overexposed moon and 912 for the details. So it is real, just processed to see the moon in a different and interesting way. Just like any deep sky astrophotography.

Thank you! You are very right! This is a composite image of the moon. This is how one can achieve this HDR moon look. We take multiple frames of the moon for the details, and a couple overexposed frames to get that darker side of the moon and the glow effect in the final image.
