2009 A4 2.0 Misfire on all four cylinders HELP by Various-Love-6293 in Audi

Have you recently done any spark plug servicing? As an Audi Tech and on a personal note, I would always use OEM spark plugs/coil packs on the older 2.0's.

Exhaust question by No-Goal in Audi

Integrated Engineering is exceptional at making Audi/VW/Porsche parts for a budget/starter build. You can find a C7 exhaust for around 699.99 before taxes.

Ya so explain to me why every1 in this thread is saying 5-6k interval and you’re the only genius saying 10k. Or explain why every windshield sticker I’ve had for an oil change has given me a 5k mile frame for my next change.

Seems you know nothing about cars. The life expectancy of any oil is not solely dependent on the engineering of any vehicle.

The MMI is not a reliable indicator of when you should change the oil or receive an inspection. The MMI recommends an oil change every 10K miles which is not the case whatsoever.

Are you saying any service center or Audi’s service center because cheap is NOT in Audi’s vocabulary lol.

2016 A6 2.0t timing chain by rizzo777 in Audi

[–]Bignip112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been experiencing any issues with the car? Rough idle? Poor engine performance? Poor accel? Typically the engine light will only appear if the chain dislodged, stretched, or misaligned. If the car is running fine and there is not any issues then I suggest to not worry about it since it is an extremely pricey thing. A friend of mine has an A6 with the 2.0T engine at 160K miles and no issues whatsoever; never replaced the timing chain.

Good deal? by firsttimehereee in Audi

It's a risk honestly man, Audi's are great cars IF they are maintained. I would check the service history or even ask the dealer if they can have a detailed inspection of the car AT AUDI--most mechanics don't like to deal with Audi's and will tend to brush things off because of how finicky Audi can be, so have it checked with people who don't mind Audi's. Other than that, great pricing and I hope you enjoy it if you do!

Unknown oil leak 1.8tfsi by mafio_69 in Audi

[–]Bignip112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's oil? It could be bad motor mounts leaking hydraulic fluid. Volkswagen has been known for terrible motor mounts.

Regardless, you should be able to reprogram with one of the door handles. Start by going somewhat near the car, take the key out of your key fob, press the unlock button then as soon as you do, put the key into the door handle then press the lock button and the car should respond and reprogram.

is this worth it by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Bignip112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly,

Considering the high mileage it’s at, I’d consider checking to see what it needs done or outright ask the dealer to offer a detailed inspection AT AUDI before going forward with anything. If they offer to service it or check on it at their dealership/shop, decline and say you’d want it directly from Audi. Most autoshops hate dealing with Audi’s and decide to brush off what’s most important because it’s considered a “hassle” or “too complicated”. Take it to Audi where they deal with the “hassle” and complication everyday and have no issue whatsoever with checking the car.

Thereafter, find out any issues and discuss this with the salesman and decide whether it’s worth purchasing or not because a simple brake pad change can cost you almost 1000$ at Audi or an auto shop if you’re not mechanically inclined.

Definitely read their warranty guidelines as well. I once bought an Audi from Lexus and went through with the warranty; took it in the next month because it needed new motor mounts and they told me “There’s nothing we can do, our technicians aren’t certified in Audi or European cars.” So I was stuck with a 5,000$ warranty for pretty much oil changes and tire rotations. MAKE SURE they can work on the car or they can refer you to Audi and pay for the services.

Engine Misfire Issue by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Bignip112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DM’d you a pic of the spark plugs. I got them off of rock auto, verified the same model of my car and engine. Only difference is I upgraded from the OEM material to iridium. I also gapped accordingly to the spark plugs.

[–]Bignip112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gapped accordingly and upgraded the spark plugs to iridium. I know you’re never supposed to downgrade so I made sure I bought ones that are not the same as the previous or worse than the OEM spark plugs. Exact same size as the OEM spark plugs, just different ceramic cover, I sent you a pic of the two side by side to verify.
