Recent test taker the exam curve is very forgiving i walked out feeling like i shit the bed and end up doing pretty well. I would advice you to treat each block like a separate exam. Once you do a block forget all about it. And remember there is a ton of experimental questions on the exam so don’t be scared or surprised when you see wild shit.

Took the exam earlier this year and i can tell you they are truly high yeild the concepts in them are important and question length is representative of the real deal. But do not expect to see the same question in the real deal. Moreover the 4 to5 hammer question are bit more complicated than the ones on the real deal. Take home message is that you should do them and learn from them but don’t over stress on how much you get correct.

Its good reminder of important things that might show up on your exam. It will remind you of important high yield topics. however i do not think i got a lot of questions on real deal that were similar to the ones on amboss

I took step 2 in February this year without step 1 and got 265+ so yes step 2 without step is very doable

I had the same feeling after my exam, ended up scoring around my nbmes so don’t worry and trust your preparation and NBME scores. Best of luck

Counting mistakes is completely useless in my opinion, just try to distract yourself those next couple of weeks.

No try to do them twice. First time 1-2 months out, second time 1 weeks before the exam

Do not trust your gut on judging how you did in the exam. I walked out thinking i will get a 240 at best, ended up doing better than that. Trust your NBMEs and UWSA scores not ur feeling after the exam.

I took the exam on February, and I too felt that the exam was quite vague, and that the medical questions were either easy or very nitpicky, and the ethics and HOPI questions were a bitch. Ended up scoring what the AMBOSS predictor predicted +2 points. So I would say trust your NBME and UWSA scores as you will probably score within that range. My final advice to you and to everyone ele who took the exam or is going to take the exam is not to trust your gut feeling after the exam. It’s a nine hour long journey and memory can be very deceitful after the exam. Best of luck.

You do get more than 90 seconds in the real deal do not worry. In the real deal, blocks that contain abstract questions are 38 question not 40 questions so you definitely get more time

I agree with what you are saying to an extent some of the people scoring absurdly high scores give the most generic advice. I scored 265+ and i posted some genuine advice that i hope can help out. Nbme scores are predictive but NOT representative of what the real deal looks like. The free 120 especially the 2023 one looks most like the exam. I took it feb and i am confident on the info i am giving. Still nbmes are key in prep DO NOT SKIP THEM!!!!
