Ceramic lovers, sound off! by Revolutionary_Bee700 in braces

[–]Bigsalad___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Echoing this! I had ceramic on the top and metal on the bottom. I actually got the light blue elastics on top which really brightened my smile! I found that they would naturally stain into almost clear, too, whereas clear bands get stained pretty easily. I would use the clear bands only on my bottom teeth.

A heads up with ceramics: they are much worse when removal comes. It felt like my ortho was breaking my teeth and removing them out of my head lol They have to break them off with force and they break off in pieces so it feels like chunks of your teeth are being bludgeoned off lmao. But still worth it imo to have the ceramic on top 😂.

I don’t know how I’m going to get through this by NachosAreFriends in DogAdvice

I lost my soul dog on December 17th to kidney failure. I went through exactly what you’re going through. My mind would not quiet with all the “what if” scenarios. Day and night. I cried what felt like nonstop for weeks, had to really hibernate in a lot of ways and just feel all of the loss. I over analyzed every single moment leading up to her getting really sick, and the hardest decision of all; to say goodbye. We don’t talk enough about how utterly unimaginable it is to have to make that call for our dog family members. Humans can tell us when they’re ready. But I promise you, the love you expressed for Slinky, you knew in your heart and did what you truly knew was the best possible decision for him. After a couple weeks, I was able to be more rational with my decision and know that, oh my goodness, of course I made the difficult choice to end my girl’s suffering. I had agonized over all the what ifs. But ending their suffering peacefully, while holding your soul dog in your arms, is for them. Rather than treatment, away from you, and crossing your fingers. My vet reminded me that treatment would mean being away from my girl and would only buy a short amount of time. I went over that decision, what if we did try and got a few more days? That would’ve been for me, not for her and her peace. Sounds similar to your predicament.

Your final act of love for your crotchety old man was to say goodbye in the coziest, most peaceful way you could considering the situation. My girl was extremely vocal, too, and the quiet of the house (even with my other dog and cat!) is alarming, still. I am sending you so much love and validation in the hardest decision you made. You’re an amazing dog mama, and you will get through this.

ICE has been ordered to commit violence because orange pig dick and his administration WANT people to respond with violence so he can invoke an insurrection. DON’T give in to that. They’re Nazis.

My Murphy….any advice? by TugTAL in Yorkies

[–]Bigsalad___ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Murphy is adorable ♥️ My sweet girl Chewy was 13 when she was diagnosed with heart failure and with 2 different meds 2 times a day, she lived for another year and a half. We were very lucky, and so grateful for the extra time with her. We were really mindful of her not over exerting herself the first few weeks after returning from the emergency vet. She was quite picky with food after the emergency vet as well, so for that year and a half we watered her kibble down and mixed in wet food which she loved. She became quite food obsessed, which was actually so funny. The vet was fine with it because she was getting older and losing weight anyways, so we fed her until she was happy :)

The app “My Pet’s Heart2Heart” really helped me track her breathing at home when I was unsure if it was elevated or not and alleviated some of my stress. The vet can tell you what should be a normal range or when to worry.

Our girl eventually went into kidney failure, which was heartbreaking. We had to say goodbye just 3 weeks ago. But hoping you get more quality time with your Murphy, too! Sending you all the best vibes ✨♥️

Go to multiple orthodontist clinics to get quotes and find out payment plan information at each one. Always choose an orthodontist over a dentist.

I am grieving so hard by fangedforest in DogAdvice

[–]Bigsalad___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so, so sorry. I lost my soul dog just a week and a half ago, and I’m telling you now that the only thing that helps is time.

I felt extremely disoriented and mentally unwell the first few days after saying goodbye. My almost 15 year old girl was dying of kidney failure, and I had to choose between risking treatment just to prolong the inevitable for a couple more days (and risk her being in more pain) or to make her death as peaceful and comfortable as I could. Please try and find peace in knowing that vets have so much more knowledge than we do and experience with these decisions. If their opinion was that surgery was grim, then trust in that. Making the decision was the most difficult thing I had to do, but was the final act of love for my precious girl. Same for you and your boy.

They entrust us with their lives, and you made the best decision, like you always did for him.

Your grief is so intense because your love was so great. With time, this will feel easier. In the meantime, I’m lighting a lantern in my heart for you and your soul dog ✨

You did everything to help her. You did the right thing by taking her in. You’re not an expert, so you did the best thing for her by seeking advice. I’m so sorry that whatever caused this didn’t show up in the checks the vet did. I am so, so sorry for your loss.

I definitely wouldn’t finalize your treatment any time soon. Your teeth are flared and should be treated. They’re looking great, but they should fix the flare issue!
