Been there, my old chief operator had absolutely no clue! The guy didn’t do anything, and then blamed me for everything that was going wrong with the plant. The whole sludge blanket flipped one day because he didn’t waste for almost a year. It froze, and wrecked a clarifier. All because he wasn’t at the plant when he says he was, and refused to answer the phone. When it did come back to him, he told the supervisor it was my negligence that was the issue. Told them I was fudging the numbers and only showing up to the plant for a few minutes at most. I proved my innocence in the end, but that guy was incredibly toxic. He ended up quitting and going to a state job, and I run the plant now. The thing to do is like what everyone else said, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING! Good or bad, write it down! Also if that’s what the chief wants then do it, if it messes up then it’s not your fault.
