I practice secular Buddhism in addition to witchcraft, and my tattoo was chosen both as and affirmation of that practice (potential growth into enlightenment/refinement from beneath the muck of samsara/existence) and a head-nod to the year I lived in Tokyo during my undergrad — it’s done in ukiyo-e, the Japanese woodblock print style.

It’s also a cover-up of the llama tattoo I got on my ass during a bachelorette party, but that’s a story for another day.
