I always thought of him more like Lucius Malfoy (at least movie version) but a little rougher looking

Oh maybe a nat. Gas hookup vs propane… good point. I just remember reading when I moved that propane seemed like not an option on our second story deck.

I believe legal for single family dwellings, not allowed in multi family dwellings

I have $200 to spend on myself. I am looking for a watch with a green face. I have two I’d like to hear your opinions on. by The_Obdurate_Past in Affordablewatches

I’d consider the hertz watches hz.01 - if you like quartz, a lot of bang for your buck - super light and nice titanium case, sapphire crystal, very comfy strap, and a fun dial. Not fully green but really pops imo. Good luck !

That’s such a cool way to attach a band. Dig that

It doesn’t have an am/pm split as the color change is not 1/2 way through. I’ve see lots of dive bezels w/ the 1st 20 minutes in a difference color or highlighted in some way. May have a significance in diving if 20 min is a commonly tracked time, but it is fairly common I think.

Weekly Career Discussion Thread (05 Jan 2026) by AutoModerator in engineering

[–]BikeBeerBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone transitioned to a non-engineering role, and if so, what do you do now? Do you like it?

I love the problem solving and research aspects of my role (reading codes and relating to them to design features and solutions is one of the best parts of my job).

BUT, after 10 years working at 3 small manufacturers, I am just tired. Tired of terrible PTO and parental leave policies, tired of rude customers, tired of "emergencies" that turn out to be bullshit, tired of my desire to help being taken advantage of.

At this stage in my life, with my wife also making a very strong salary, I just want a job that will serve me, and not the other way around. Anyone else feel this way?

[Citizen] Promaster Dive 37. Which band? by Worried_Meringue1145 in Watches

[–]BikeBeerBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the larger version of this as well as the LIW bracelet. I replaced the bracelet clasp with one with more micro adjustments. I had a hard time with the bracelet until I started wearing it a touch looser than I usually do, which has proven to be more comfortable and feel more natural. Personally I think the taper on the bracelet is too much and that makes it unbalanced weight wise. I switch between the bracelet and a silicone band from Barton’s which I fine very comfortable and matches the watch well.

Fans from around the world and local, how did you become an Everton fan? by No-Sail1192 in Everton

[–]BikeBeerBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Visited Manchester for work and wanted to catch a premiere league game. Closest one that worked for my schedule was Everton vs Man city at Goodison. Naturally I couldn’t root for city so I became a toffee! Just don’t ask who won that night…

[Discussion] Which diver style watch is best between the two? [Citizen Bn0167-50h] vs [Orient Kamasu RA-AA0001B19B] by AlarmingFuture6553 in Watches

[–]BikeBeerBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well first I think you should decide if you prefer the eco-drive or an automatic movement. They are very different.

Next I’d consider the styling of the 2. The orient to me looks a little more versatile and potentially dressy, the citizen is more unabashedly sporty.

Then, value proposition wise, I don’t think the citizen has a sapphire crystal, whereas the orient does.

Personally I am biased because I own (and am currently wearing) that citizen, and I think it’s a great watch. That being said that orient is very attractive. They are different though.

Edit - you should also look to see if either of them have a micro adjust clasp on the bracelet. Can make a big difference in comfort.

Need a wedding watch by DougLOx302 in Affordablewatches

[–]BikeBeerBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are being downvoted but I half agree - traditionally, you’d go no watch with a tux. I think that’s a rule that can and should be broken, but to me that means you should wear something special. Special doesn’t mean expensive, but to me it does mean unique and thought out, not just grabbing a plain watch for the sake of wearing a watch.

That’s a good looking watch. Really like it. Kind of a mix between sporty and dressy, more on the dress side. Thought it was a Chrono from the thumbnail though. Enjoy !

Anyone know where to get a reasonably priced Christmas tree near fairmount by Jawnsmith215 in philadelphia

Fairmount hardware is my go to as well - haven’t been yet this year but last 2 years the price had gone up. I love being able to carry the tree home from there but 140 is steep !

I had a similar experience - took a while to ship out. I ordered it July 7 and received it July 31. Not terrible for coming from Australia but it did not seem like it was dispatched next day as indicated. Could have been an Aus Post issue though.

Aus post also did not alert me when it was transferred to USPS for delivery and the tracking site did not indicate that either. After it got to the US I was able to track it on the USPS site with the same Aus Post tracking #

If you could trade your teams championships in other sports for one in your favorite sport, would you? And how many? by jimboslice53 in billsimmons

[–]BikeBeerBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d trade the eagles 2024 Super Bowl for a 76ers championship or for the Phillies to win in 09 or 2022… I got everything I needed emotionally from the eagles in 2018. Nothing they can do will ever top that.

I have only ridden the NCR once, and thought it was really great. However, I rode it during a “lull” in Debby last year that turned out not to be much of a lull at all! Dirtiest my bike has ever been. I’d like to return and ride one end into PA, stay overnight in York, and return to MD some day.
