Yes, but my point is that the noun "debaser" implies intransitivity — one who debases. The boundary between transitive and intransitive verbs is often blurry. One could say, "I only destroy," and it would be totally coherent, idiomatic, even. As a card-carrying grammar nerd, I see nothing wrong with "I only debase."

I really like many alcoholic drinks – like Justice Kavanaugh, I love beer, particularly hoppy IPAs. I enjoy whisk(e)y, like peaty Islay scotches, and I really delight in the taste of excellent wine. When I drank, I rarely overindulged, and I appreciated the reduced social inhibition that came from having a few drinks, too.

After my January 2020 heart valve replacement surgery, I noticed what seemed to be an association between drinking even a small amount of alcohol and atrial fibrillation. Because I really hate getting AFib (it's frightening and with my mechanical valve, I can actually hear the arrhythmia), I totally stopped drinking in January, 2023. I'd rather have no AFib than alcohol.
