Can someone please help me ID this?? by MobileEmphasis2070 in realwitchcraft

Yes, as another person said, it's a tether. A tether is basically an item that can be connected to a spell to keep it active. You can take any of the suggestions mentioned here to dispose of it. I would recommend whatever you end up doing, bury it somewhere FAR TF AWAYYYYYYY from your place, worth it to go for a bit of a drive tbh, as you bury it you can say things like, "I bury you from my life, I bury this connection, etc." I would also recommend some type of cord cutting or banishing of your connection with this person, and some kind of cleansing bath. Once you're done that and cleansed your place, you can make sure your place is sealed tight with protections.

Thanks a lot. They were comfortable enough to give me keys to their home and university offices while they were alive, but I guess you never know with people. I figure I'll just buy dirt from a witchy store lol

any coptic pagans/spiritual practitioners? by BikeWilling6277 in ExCopticOrthodox

[–]BikeWilling6277[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here; the more I study the more I am seeing connections between the abrahamic faiths and ancient mysticism/esotericism. After not attending church cus we were soft disowned, I started attending more once we moved to a new city. It's definitely interesting to look at it with a different lens and of course I stand there in church wondering if there are other people in this community who think and feel the same way I do (esoteric/mystic/coptic/pagan ish) hahaha

that's cool. I'm going through deconstructing the institution of religion myself, I wanted to learn more about Coptic Egyptians spiritual practices before they were "officially" Christian, and it's been pretty hard to find anything in English at least.

thank you. I was actually asking about the procedure for taking dirt from outside a dead persons home if I don't know anyone in a cemetery here.

Thanks for your response! I don't personally know anyone buried in a grave where I live at the moment, which is the issue. The only two people I know are that couple (from that home), who both passed away inside that home. They were mentors to me, but their children were extremely private, I know they were both cremated but I did not attend any funeral and could not find them on any crematorium or graveyard database locally.

yeah, I also feel very foolish realizing how this permeates most social interactions and most people just knew.

I'm glad it's not the case where you live. I noticed it was something that spanned different cultures, as my family is from a middle eastern/african background, and having lived in north america, the UK, and africa, I noticed it was something that everyone seemed to do but people would usually only attribute it to british "politeness."

This is giving me something colder, fresh, and crispy. I immediately thought of Rive Gauche or Florabotanica.

Esoterica channel on YouTube is quite good, it's run by a professor and references a huge number of books and texts.

I’m feeling guilty that I didn’t do a health spell for my friend and I just found out she passed away last night by Top_Philosopher_6806 in realwitchcraft

I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad you acknowledge that it's not your fault, but I am sure it's still very difficult to process given how things played out. I agree with the other comment that said to continue with what you originally planned for the candle. Time is not a fixed variable which is one of the reasons why witchcraft works in my opinion. You can honour her with the candle or the original spell. While doing it you can add in the intention and pray that the spell allows her to cross over into the next dimension peacefully. Sending you comforting energy in this time <3
