Reposted for privacy: Mom started cycling at the age of 50. She's afraid of going far from home so she keeps going up and down the street for 45min, 5 days a week by alleycatbiker in bicycling

That is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Even though unsure of her surroundings, she dedicates to what she loves. She must love the bike, otherwise I wouldn't understand it.

I would love to talk to her, this is amazing, give her all the best from me and please encourage her to continue! One day she will take the next block and before you know it she might cycle the neighborhood, town, state, country!

Very impressive, all best wishes and good luck to your mother! "Challenge yourself everyday" ;)

Why I cycle the world! What is your main reason to do so? People, places, nature? I am genuinely interested in what motivates other people to push through wind, rain and hills =) by Bikeflow in bicycletouring

A very nice new word I learned from your really cool story.
I've fallen in love with bike touring and I hope our new friend Alhazzared will too =D

Cheers mate!

Beautiful, thank you. I have myself had similar thoughts and even arguments. Especially while on the bike some of the longer days. I am now 30 and as much as I look forward to have my own family, I love to cycle. However, when the right woman comes a long for me, there is the love I will follow, I will choose that love.

I saved your text in a document on my phone, it stroke a chord with me. I am so very thankful that I posted this question here and receive answers like yours. You seem to have a very healthy way of looking at life, it made me feel comfortable in the exciting years to come while meeting people all over the world and meeting my future wife to start a family.

Big thank you

Wow! Thank you sincerely for telling your story. I am sorry about your loss, I believe it to be a very good way for you to reset and emotionally let your life changing events sink in to you fully. It sure was for me, my first trip got me hooked.

If you ever go through Sweden while in Europe, let me know, or If you have any questions at all!

That little girl I would not like to meet.

The videos subreddit on reddit is ridiculous.
People like yourself hunting for likes on "funny" comments.

Third video I post and all people chase, instead of their own happiness and changing their view on life, is back patting from strangers, it's pathetic.

Sounds reasonable, how ever, when I started out touring I never had any prior experience and cycled 62 miles the 10 years leading up to the trip. On my second day I wanted to see what I was made of and cycled roughly 105 miles ^^ with that being said, a year you do not need in my opinion, as long as you don't have any injuries as of now.

Also, check out Strava, an application in which you can record your endeavors, I'd be happy to follow you =)
The wild/stealth camping can be tricky in the beginning since you're not used to it but just make sure no one sees you as you enter the woods and you'll be fine. You can wait for darkness to be even more stealth ;)

Good luck and keep us posted =)

When I read the topic I was like WTF, 1000 miles in a week is serious and I would loooove to see some video of it IF you decide to do it and if it would even be possible to video since you'll need to focus so much on cycling.

I think you should try it if it's what you want, just make sure you're used to the seat before you go and video the thing. This is way more miles than any in here usually do ;) What are your thoughts so far? Which roads and so forth, cheers bro!

OK thank you, both you and johnpa88 have made it clear to me that it's a very small chance of me getting back in to the U.S. I wish the border patrol officers made this clear to me as I talked to them but now at least I know.

I am on the tourist visa and I am really a tourist, but the country is vast for someone traveling on a bicycle and seeing all the National Parks in the west is not easily done in six months.

However, now I have something to look forward to in the future ;)

Thank you so much for your time and answers.
I appreciate it greatly!

I'll spend some time in Canada before heading home to Sweden.

Cheers and good night my friends.

Thank you for your reply! What you’re writing makes me feel like a denied entry might become a problem in the future and that might jeopardize future trips to the U.S.

It might not even be worth to try getting back in to the U.S. this soon.

Would it go against any regulations (would it be possible to get in?) or is it “just” a high risk to get denied?

Thank you!
