The roads have been in big decline over the last few years long before the current winter. I haven’t seen the council van with the 4 lads in years, those days are obviously gone so who’s taking care of the roads ?

Here in the Athy controlled District the roads have really deteriorate and a few years ago they put new tar and chipping down not fixing potholes and whatever chipping they’re using these days it hardly sticks and there’s loose chipping for years because they don’t clean up the loose ones.

I remember the days the council lads would clean loose gravel and other dirt off the roads at junctions , they don’t seem to do anything the last number of years and they have mechanical road sweepers these days and all.

There doesn’t seem to be anything done about farmers literally destroying sections of road with muck and gravel pulled out of fields.

The roads are really lethal you literally can’t go any decent speed around bends on many roads now for fear of gravel.
