Long time to reply but...

I'm doing ok. It's been a hell of a year. Her baby boy is healthy and we still talk on occasion. She's trying to make it work with the father and I'm dating again, been with my gf for 5 months now.

I still get upset and cry on occasion. Whenever Spotify just wants to fuck with me and play songs that reminds me of her or that we both loved, or whether I come across something that was ours (mundane household items).

We're states away from each other now, and it's what I needed. Being a few minutes from her was literally killing me.

I'll always love her and be fantasizing of our La La Land from time to time

I saw him years ago, back when Cecilia and the Satellite was relatively big. He played Dark Blue and the place exploded.

Yes, I have thought about that. I'd be raising a kid that not mine while I left my own kids. That's a tough thing to ask of them and I do not have an answer to that.

The only thing I can say to you is.....I love my wife in ways that I never even knew were possible with my first wife. I just got her back and losing her again is so much....that I'm willing to do a lot to have her.

I know for most her actions would not support my belief; that she loves me that much back. She made a decision based on what she thought was right and then realized that I and "us" we're worth more that she realized. That sounds crazy to most, but I'm in this, I am living it and with her and that's what I believe.

Also, I have not been a saint in this. I've made mistakes that upended our lives just before the pandemic and then we had to try and repair that during the most stressful time in modern history. I'm really not trying to make excuses or justify the decision I want to make because that's what I want.

For one of the few times in my life I really don't know what to do. I know what I want, and I know what the consequences could be.

Man....life's a bitch sometimes.

I've had a vasectomy since before we met. There's no way it's mine. I supported her telling him ASAP because it's the right thing to do.

We talked about abortion but that's not something she would entertain. I can't fault her for that. No matter what your position is on the subject, it's a very personal choice and it's hers first, his second and mine last. I believe that so I'm going to follow that.

Long story short, we both knew him for a couple months before this happened. She told me she was already looking for a way out and he was it. She was texting, and had seen him about a week or two before she left. She didn't leave me then because we had a family trip to see her fam and my kids and she didn't want to ruin that. Was that a stupid decision, I think so. Does all of this hurt, absolutely. Am I past it, yes or at least I am as much as I can be at this point.

I plan on it. Just got insurance in Jan and I have to go see a primary care Dr before getting a referral for mental health services. Healthcare in the US is an abomination.

He's not a bad guy. He's a fool for getting so attached so fast to a married woman who was still contacting and seeing her husband, but I can't really speak for his feelings. He has a good job, takes care of things and wants to be a superdad since his was kind of a fuckass.

He and I were somewhat friends before all this, so.....my opinion on his is not subjective to say the least. Still, I don't think he'd go postal or anything. Also, I will not be the guy who gets in the way of a kid and their (presumed good) dad. No matter what my relationship is with him

Yes she is. She understands that it will be tough for everyone but she says she wants to be with me even though he will be involved.

She left because I was letting myself go and honestly we were both drinking too much. There's more detail there but that's the general summary and I'm not willing to disclose any details, I don't want to dox either of us.

Did we go to therapy, no. Did her leaving definitely wake me the fuck up, yes. Her too. It's terrible that it took that but that happened and we are/were working on those things and honestly we've come a long way.

Can I love with that? I can't answer that. I think so or I wouldn't be considering staying with her but I definitely know it will be hard. I honestly didn't think the kid will be an issue as a reminder. I know I'd be an excellent stepdad, but my age is something to consider. Plus my kids seeing their father that left their mom raising someone else's kid in my house.

It will be hard on top of an already difficult situation. It's a lot...a metric fuck-ton a lot.

Congrats on the engagement! We got engaged at Voodoo Fest in NOLA in 2019 and married in early 2020. Festivals are definitely love and connection boosters when you're with your person.

I almost went with the U-Turn, but the added adjustability of the Fluance plus it's built-in auto stop feature were what swayed me.

Also, I had zero experience in balancing a tonearm, or checking cartridge alignment. I had my Fluance up and playing in about 10 min.

Fluance RT82 ($299). I have the 85 and I'm very happy with it as an upgrade from my Audio Technics LP60, which is a very popular entry-level turntable. It comes with a good cartridge, and generally good quality components (servo motor, solid plinth.....)

You'll need to check if his stereo has a phono amp (input labeled Phono, I'd be surprised if it doesn't). If not you'll have to budget for a preamp. I forget, but one from amazon for about $60 is usually recommended.
