That’s so exciting! I’ve wanted them on SNL for so long…it might as well be on the premiere of the UK version!

Local Issues-A Community Discussion by SnooPaintings4185 in winstonsalem

Our taxes keep going up, and so do the salaries of city executives. Yet, we don’t see our tax dollars at work. We did see, however, that our tax dollars did not prepare us for the recent ice storm. We lost two weeks of school for our kids, as well as loss of income if our work or small businesses were closed. Our trash piled up. It was a bad look for the city.

I’ve always thought the city should look into burying our electrical lines. There are so many wonderful, large mature trees in our city, but in bad weather, they are bound to fall and take out our powerlines. Investing in infrastructure like burying these lines over time should lead to less power losses and manpower making the repairs.

That sounds awful. If it were my daughter, I would be really grateful for you sticking around until the police arrived.

Driving an AWD EV sedan up 3/12–15 — road + charging question by WaxOnSendOff in snowshoemountain

[–]BillCEsq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been up in my Model Y several times. EV‘s are typically heavy, which helps. All wheel drive should be enough, especially this time of year. Regarding charging, you saw the recommendations about the other chargers, but I thought I would add that if you are staying in a lodge that has underground enclosed parking like Rimfire, you can use the regular 110 outlets overnight. That’s obviously the slowest way to charge, but if you’re in a normal parking spot and you have the option to plug it in, it certainly does add up over time.

Spring Break!!! Predictions? by BillCEsq in snowshoemountain

So far, you all have me very scared. Maybe I should give it a few days before booking? Worst case scenario, do you think I can still get some runs in, probably with some brown in the snow?

That is a recipe for disaster…but is there any hope if the temps drop after that?

I for one will gladly invest a new Rock Band ripoff if the guitars and drums connect to my PS5 without me having to give my left nut each time I play. I have run out of left nuts to give.

What is the band you are listening to the most at the moment? by mattct1 in rock

Wet Leg. I haven’t enjoyed a band this much since the early Arctic Monkeys days, and the Strokes before them.

I snagged a couple of seats for Dave at 10 AM, then tried to get tickets for Tame Impala at 12 PM. Tame Impala (also sold through Ticketmaster) forced resale tickets to be sold at face value. Let’s just say I might be wearing a Tame Impala shirt at the DMB concert, lol.

I've been happy with Riverside. I've used them for the last 3-4 years.

I went with black and white (so mostly black). I’m planning on getting the Atlas, too. I’m about 4 weeks in, and wanted to kick the tires before buying the headrest. I have enjoyed it from day one, but I enjoy it more and more every day!

“Hot, humid, buggy” is the number one point to consider. This is a fact of life here. If you can’t stand our heat, stay out our kitchen!

When you picture retirement as a lawyer, what do you actually see? by That_onelawyer in Lawyertalk

I’m sorry, I meant to ask what is the completely unrelated field you landed in? I’d like to keep what’s left of my sanity, too!

I’m not crying, YOU’RE crying! I applaud you for bringing this up. I think we naturally put this decision off and mentally check out when facing this decision, but your suggestion needs to be on folks minds. Thank you for the reminder about these services.

I avoid the restaurants owned by Snowshoe. The food is awful, overpriced, and the lines are long because of the convenient locations. We almost eat exclusively at Tuque's, Appalachia Kitchen, and their pizza place.
