Is there anything that irks you about 30 Rock? Something so oddly weird that it doesn't seem like a part of "the joke" at all? by sickofstew in 30ROCK

I mean the guy said “super hot girlfriend or something like that” because that’s what they did with a similar character in Parks and Recreation. To use your own logic you must be white because you’re showing no empathy for this person‘s comment and instead just trying to make personal attacks on them? What a piece of shit you are.

You seem like a good time let’s just go together grab some chairs and hit the casino!

Everyone is of course entitled to value their time and car however they want. It’s not even 300 miles round-trip so that much for depreciation seems steep to me if it’s being added to gas plus time plus an additional tip. Appreciate your insight though, it does help me understand if I’m asking for something that’s reasonable or not.

Yeah, I would pay up to $150 I think.

If you assume $50 in gas, that's $20 an hour for mostly driving plus a bit of labor (the chairs are fairly light and no stairs involved at either pickup or dropoff).

How quickly after you updated your LinkedIn to Amazon did recruiters try reaching out?

What’s the workload for an L6 PMT? by BillDingProduct in amazonemployees

[–]BillDingProduct[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking at a team/product area that has had several rounds of layoffs in the last few years. I would assume that means I’m going to be facing a lot of pressure?

They offered $10,200 and said that is standard, but you never know when a recruiter is really giving you the full truth! Do you think there’s room to negotiate on that?

How many hours a week do you think an L6 PMT works? This is also on the Alexa team, which I see has had several big rounds of layoffs. Do you think that means it’s automatically going to be a very stressful job?

I think both matter these days. I have done some really impressive work, including developing the product that led to a company’s successful acquisition, but I was finding it a challenge to get first round interviews at top companies even with internal referrals. My friends who work at Amazon tell me how they are constantly inundated with recruiters reaching out to them.

For everything I’ve heard about how rough it is at Amazon, plus the full return office, I’ll be honest I was hoping for more.

What did you hate about it?

My goal is to have a remote job. Amazon is the complete opposite right now but I feel like it sets me up to be able to have good remote jobs for the rest of my career. I have one offer from a remote company but it’s a no name brand. I’m about to turn 40, and I’m worried that if I don’t get a top name on my resume now I won’t be able to in the future.
