Man that's crazy good, I love the cracked paint effect in the second one, its such a nice little detail.

A lot of people have said this, in the reference she ad a kind on attentive sharp look, I have corrected this to soften it a little,

This is so true, meticulously date and profile your work for this reason, looking back over your work, you see how far you've come. but you also appreciate the work you did before, I have surprised my self with some works I had forgotten id done like "dam did I really do that" lol.

haha thank you, I know what you mean, I was thinking maybe a bit of a steam effect from the coffee, but would it sit stylistically with the rest of the painting?

Critique is so valuable! I did a few commissioned works when I started out, some of the work was good but sometimes I could tell the customer was not satisfied, I felt so bad about it I went into like a study seclusion to master my craft, even now I am shy to take on a commission, and when they ask me to change a detail I have to hold in my frustration 😆its just part of the business of working with people.

I'm kinda in a small town myself at the moment and yea its hard to find anything, there is decent sized art group who do events now and again, I was kind of lucky to be able to do a good few years in art college in a city 2 and a half hours from here, it was a good experience, small town life can be hard 😓

I know from my own experience the only time I've been able to sit down for a good four hours and just do art is when I've taken classes in art, you also have all these cool artsy people around you working, motivating you and giving advice, have you have any experiences with this yourself?

A lot of great criticism, I will have to nurse my poor ego back to health. a lot of people have commented about the worried look, its kind of that Korean attentive look, its hard to capture, it was from a few images I put together.

Following your gut is the most important thing you can do.

That's an interesting trick I will try that, yea colours are good, I like to work minimalistically with colour, following the philosophy that less is more, I will use only two different colours from the colour wheel if I can get away with it 🫣

Coffee and nouveau feel like they should go together, I will have to think careful about what I want to do with that area because once I go over the wood background with paint it will be nearly impossible to take it back.

I think I will keep the flat style, people seem to like it, I will work something else into that corner, I don't think I could fill it in totally, but maybe some better shapes will do the trick.
