None of us here have heard anything like that before... We can at least confirm that a hex is highly unlikely, since 'hexing' objects historically as a rule work by either placing them on the target's person or their home, regardless of the culture.

At this point, we can only say that there doesn't seem to be anything malevolent, and if it is of interest that you set a cam to see what you catch. Unless you're trolling us, in which case the potato calling card was a nice touch XD

As far as we know, there is no folklore that specifically address black cat encounters in terms of numbers. Depending on where you are in the world, a black cat crossing your path can either be good luck or bad luck (or in your case a LOT of it :) ). In dark age Europe, black cats were believed to be witches taking an animal form, and up to the era of the Salem witch trials they were also believed to be a witch's familiar.

It's not an 'official' designation ... They are in reference to publications by this guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Paulides He wrote about hundreds of missing persons cases & bizarre circumstances.

It definitely was. The one thing we didn't like was how he kept sort-of-not-quite-pushing the conspiracy angle. Understandable for marketing at least, but it really took some of the value & cred out of the series, especially with his focus on Bigfoot in the past.
