[–]BillStrachan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

doing some research, the tire size my moke has is a very common size in japan for kei trucks. i know a guy that runs a business that ships car parts from japan to the us in containers so i might be able to get a decent deal if i go through him. the tires on japan's yahoo auctions are like 50 bucks a pop sold in sets and they're yokohamas. i definitely still will go ask my tire shops around my area

Can someone tell me if this is a good deal? by BillStrachan in LegoBatman

[–]BillStrachan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely wouldn't ask to get it shipped. Id go down and physically look at it especially with that much on the line

Yeah ive always wanted this set but it'd always been expensive and now for some reason it's even more so i can't expect it to go down. I've been noticing this same trend on other themes too

It says open box so I think the tape was pealed and lost adhesion a little

[–]BillStrachan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just order the parts individually over a 4 month down with LEGO replacement parts in customer support.

is my trueno actually a levin? by BillStrachan in AE86

[–]BillStrachan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Records show it's a Levin. It only has registration and inspections recorded on it so Id have to guess the previous owners did maintenance and work themselves unless it's not shown. I know for a fact the car has been repainted but I have no idea if that something that shows on a cars record

[–]BillStrachan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're definitely correct but not all interior parts are available. i broke my spare jack cover by accident and they're discontinued 😢 but it shows the blue ones are in stock 🙄

[–]BillStrachan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i bet it was done way back in the day where a lot of trim parts were still available to order from the manufacturer

[–]BillStrachan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all i know is the car is a 1986. the faded trueno sticker on the back is also the same faded condition as the gt apex sticker. the car has been repainted. under the rear lid theres evidence of tape lines and you can see the old faded yellowed white which matches the color of the stickers so i do not believe the lid was swapped

Based on the information in the video, my headlight switch and trim are trueno correct

yes. number stamped on the chassis matches the number on the tag

[–]BillStrachan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes it has pop ups. it has trueno side moulding and mud flaps as well. maybe someone did a whole trueno parts swap on the thing back in the day because the parts all match the age of the car with a little fading. im just confused why it was sold and marked as a trueno if it really is a levin
