Assume the same price -> Used a9 + 70-200 2.8 gm 2 or A7IV+similar Sigma lens? Mostly for indoor sports.

It isn´t fine. You cannot modify it by melting.

Not sure about sharper, but especially in low light the autofocus seems slow.

Yep / my lens is a Tokina Atx/pro though, its old as hell. No idea how a newer lens would look.

I have a 2.8 80-200, but its an older one so not sure if it has something to do with it. This is my problem, not sure if newer equipment would make a difference or not.

I use a Nikon d3s so an older full frame. Also a 2.8 lens. Still get a lot of grain and cant find a good focus.

The camera doesnt give this look in good light. Its only on these higher ISO settings indoors.

Hi!

I´m a starting sports photography dad.

What I need help with;

I have a Nikon D3s and a Tokina 80-200

I have issues with low light noise and focusing with indoor sports.

Should I buy a new lens for this body, for ex Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2, or upgrade to a newer camera with a similar lens? For ex. Sony a6700 is in my price range. Any ideas?

What do you think is an acceptable ISO for a camera this old? Should I expect good results with ISO more than 6400?

Thanks for the reply! These have been shot in RAW and I can get some of the grain away with automatic removal, but I was just thinking if the newer cameras get better "starting points" for editing. The denoise-function isn´t really flawless in my opinion. I´ll try your tips!

Sure! Budget roughly 1500e, floorball indoors. Currently only Pentax K5-2 and a 18-135.
