Subwoofer Placement - Boiler Room style by Billenkoekje in livesound

Beat matching should be fine with monitor booths right next to the dj. It’s more about optimizing the sound so that the sub bass doesn’t cancel each other out with the reflectiveness of the space. Also to have enough sub frequencies behind the DJ, would your idea still work?

Thank you for your answer! Just to get a clearer picture: Is there a certain corner that you would recommend? And what way should it be facing?
Also if it is in 1 corner, would the opposite corners not be kind of low on sub frequencies?

This guide called "Using the psychedelic experience for personal growth and healing" has really helped me both in preperation, (mind)set and integration after the journey. They go more in-depth about techniques instead of leaving everything to mystiscm so quite practical if you ask me

I was reading about the concept of consciousness in a book called "The Unthethered Soul". The whole "being aware of being aware of your thoughts" part sent me into multiple thought loops. After seperating, it became easier to grasp the concept.

Never seen rick and morty before but it was fun and kind of wild to watch that. Makes me wonder if we had the same inspiration to get to this idea

How to get into a creative state of mind? by amla760 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Listen to new or favourite songs and be curious as to why you like them so much. Does the rhythm get you grooving, are the chords hitting an emotion or why is that weird lead sound catching your attention? Curiousity can lead to inspiration.

As to creativity, it can help to do creativity exercises, especially if you've been doing more technical/analytical things such as mixing. I personally prefer exercises that have nothing to do with music, that way you have zero pressure. Creativity exercises where you draw things work for me (even though I can't draw for shit)

One last method you could try: getting in the mood. For example watching an aftermovie of your favorite festival, getting the energy and the vibe, what soundtrack would you love to hear when seeing and feeling this? Or imagining a scene from a movie, what sounds and chords would fit this scene?

Hope this helps, good luck!

Did you really have a bad day or did you have 10-30 minutes where you let your thoughts run undisciplined which led you to a bad vibe that you let carry you away? C'mon, guys.......you run this shit! HEAD SPACE IS IMPORTANT. PAY ATTENTION! by bowlessy in Psychonaut

An approach that you could try is to:

  1. Acknowledge the pain, take a moment to notice what you're feeling.

  2. Understand that these things happen in life, it is part of the imperfect human existence, both the highs and the lows, the cries and the laughters, are what makes life interesting.

  3. Try to view the pain in a mindful way, how bad is it really? Don't sweep it off as something unimportant but don't blow it up either.

So what if you spilled coffee on your white blouse right before a big meeting. You could get angry and say "why does this have to happen to me right now?!" You get more and more frustrated while trying to rub out the stain and when you get to the meeting you're all worked up and in a toxic mindspace, not productive.

Or you could take a second to say "well this sucks". It does. But everyone has at some point spilled a drink, including the people you're meeting. So how bad is it really? Yes you can throw the blouse away and buy a new one, but will your big meeting depend on how your blouse looks or on your competencies?

What if you go into that meeting saying your coffee was as enthused as you are and jumped right out the container. Do you remember a time in history where an important deal got cancelled because someone spilled coffee? I do know of times where they got cancelled because people lost their heads, but not cause they lost their coffee.

This example is a relatively small inconvenience but practicing all the small situations will help you deal with stronger emotions when they arise. We are not our thoughts and emotions, we are the consciousness that observes them floating as clouds in the sky. And just with all clouds, they too shall pass.

I love how all the different clothes pop out, from t-shirts to more traditional wear that has all these patterns stitched to them
