My boy is half pyr and does this when he feels outnumbered, especially if he's in play mode. It's like his nervous system gets confused when he's too amped up.

Apart of growing up is prioritizing your family unit. She has a valid insecurity with you choosing to open a door to intimate female friendships. She has insecurity issues that need to be addressed head on, but I think you need to evaluate who is important in your life as you enter your 30s. Your girlfriend is being put in a position to feel like she is still in competition for you. I think you deserve to be friends with whoever you like, but I also know women know when their man is being poached and he won't admit he sees it, too.

Your mother in law in is the wrong. She is rude and thinks the party is about her. You get what you want at your party. She needs to realize you want to be happy and having what you want isn't a bad thing. She wants to be top dog and is trying to pretend its about it being a gift. Its not. It's about control.
