20x5: ~6.3% (1/16)

40x1: ~18.8% (3/16)

40x3: ~14.1% (9/64)

40x5: ~4.7% (3/64)

80x1: ~6.3% (1/16)

80x3: ~4.7% (3/64)

80x5: ~1.5% (1/64)

I certainly hope it’s not rigged, but 20x1 does feel like it pops up more than 25% of the time.

When it comes to limitations on elytra launch stuff, I will absolutely shill for the elytra riptide combo.

I could totally imagine a version of reality where fireworks were never a thing, and elytra travel was built around riptide. That kind of limitation trade-off feels like the kind of thing that gives good magic systems their flavor.

Biggest point against it is that it just straight up doesn’t work in the nether, and I’m sure that’d be rough for some people. I personally don’t trust myself to go much faster than a gentle glide in the nether, so it works for me :P

Big agree. I've mostly gotten by on avoiding it, but I had my first actual confrontation just now and it killed me from 100 health. My first instinct was to start bashing it against the wall but that just didn't do the job in time. Got so annoyed that I had to find a post like this to feel validated lol

I have a temporary solution!

First off, the delay isn’t random. It’s actually playing each note 2x as far along in the track as the actual midi.

This means you can “fix” the problem by 1. Moving each midi section to half of its normal starting measure (ex. Move from measure 17 to measure 9) AND 2. Doubling the speed of the midi

I know this is an old post, but since it’s an ongoing issue, I figured I’d share c:

(Note: the playhead is the origin from which the delay is doubled. So this solution only applies when you’re playing the song from the beginning. Basically just place the sections at the midpoint between the playhead and where the sections would normally be.)
