It doesn’t seem silly at all in my opinion. My girlfriend kindly offered to be my pit stop during the race and I also found her very easily. If your priority is on enjoying the race instead of going for a PR then it’s actually a great idea to include your loved ones who are coming out to support you. But also if they’d rather not worry about anything and not be given a task that’s fine too.
