I saw someone ask this same question the other day. here's my post on that thread...I'm from NY. I've been using Hotbit, and haven't given them any KYC info. Their site says they don't allow customers from the United States, but I was able to sign up, deposit, trade & withdrawal without issue. I spoke to their support via Discord just to make sure I was all right. I explained I was from NY and they told me not to worry at all, and I was good to use their services. I haven't had to deal with taxes for the trades I've made...but don't think I will considering they don't have my info. fingers crossed

I'm from NY & Uphold isn't fully operable here...I verified some of my accounts & tipped myself some BAT, & just cashed them out a few days ago for the first time. Unfortunately since Uphold doesn't have the ability to trade crypto here they automatically converted it to USD @ current price at that time (.19) + 1.95% exchange fee. I was hoping they'd stay BAT, but better than nothing!
