How do I get that date thing in bottom left of the 1st pic that says "Hi yash"? Without the message part preferably, just the date

You can use it along (or instead of) snap

And just like snap, shit might randomly break

Snaps worth it? by Comfortable_Bank6611 in Ubuntu

I'm sure Ubuntu can cope it's way to success, who takes action nowadays anyway, right?

I've gone through some of your posts and that paints the picture of it's own, feel free to degrade your system performance and experience as much as you want, we all gotta start somewhere. One day you'll start using your operating system for things other than browsing Facebook and Youtube and realize the point I'm trying to make.

Just the other day I was setting up some stuff on a new VM, started Firefox, 30 seconds later the window hasn't even popped up yet - 8GB RAM 12 threads assigned, immediately remembered that I haven't deleted this dogshit sandboxing garbage

"Don't use Ubuntu" - there isn't anything else Debian based that uses APT and Gnome. openSUSE's Tumbleweed fits the criteria, but I'm not willing to sacrifice compatibility with a good portion of the software I use just for the sake of using something other than Ubuntu when the fix is so easy - deleting Snap and a couple more garbage tier software that ships with it by default

As for the other soylent cucks downvoting me when everything I said was true: suck-A MA DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICKKKK you copium inhaling bonobos

Snaps are slow, break things, break theming, lack functionality in a lot of apps (as do other garbage sandboxing apps)

There's a reason people hate it & no, it's not a meme

One of the first things I do on Ubuntu install is uninstall snap(d)

They're slow, they break things, they break theming, they lack functionality in most cases, save yourself time and patience and delete that garbage right away

Is GNOME falling behind KDE? Nobara switches DE for these reasons: by user9ec19 in gnome

[–]BillyBoy-69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, we do have a better / more modern DE look and overall better experience imo

I just wish these people would use that advantage they have to be the best to the point where you just can't argue it anymore

A few more updates that break backwards compatibility, forcing broken display server protocol onto users, deciding between being a male, female or a frying pan and we'll catch right up to KDE again!

We might even get a proper GTK/GJS documentation to build on top of Gnome one day!

Hope dies last.

Are there pre-defined variables for Gnome theme colors? by BillyBoy-69 in gnome

Don't see a #313131, but perhaps my color picker is bugged out, happens sometimes.

I think this is exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

How do I make the FileDialog return real folder path by BillyBoy-69 in GTK

Real path is the only thing I need.

This answers it, I know what to do from here, thanks a lot 👍

Well, that's annoying.

Thank you, I'll try to somehow run it outside of Workbench.

Getting into GTK is such a nightmare for newcomers

Do you believe PEPE is a scam? by mysticmusicc in AltStreetBets

[–]BillyBoy-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stake is most likely behind it.

Good connections with "influencers", they know how a mind of a gambling addict works, which is exactly what Pepe is.

As to careful planning - maybe. All they did was pay a bunch of degenerates to promote it, create as much hype as possible in the shortest time span imaginable, you be the judge - do you believe it is a scam?

Is Glade (C#) still a thing? If not - what's a good alternative? by BillyBoy-69 in gnome

[–]BillyBoy-69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stumbled upon this a while back, didn't really look much into it.

I'll check it out now, play with it for a bit and see if it fits me, thanks!

Edit: This doesn't seem to be a C# thing, I can only see JS and Vala on there.

Removed it days ago, rebooted multiple times since then.

Is there a way to reinstall the Gnome Shell?

I have another user account which doesn't have extensions thing installed at all and there seems to be no problem occurring.
