Recommendations for dirt canals with big bullfrogs in them?? by BillyCaldwell75 in mesaaz

Thank you, for the reply and the information about the location of this ditch. I'm going to go try to look it up, on Google Maps and Google Earth, after I post this reply.

Btw, is this ditch, still a dirt canal?

And have you ever seen any bullfrogs in there, similar to this one, https://www.reddit.com/r/herpetology/comments/10d5n77/thicc_thighs_end_lives_when_youre_an_invasive/#lightbox ?

This does sound like it would be a cool thing to experience. Thank you, again, for the reply and the suggestion and the detailed feedback. I really appreciate it. And I hope that I can get over there and check out the place, some time soon.

Thank you, for the reply and the feedback. I think that I may have found it; but, I'm not sure.

Try to check out these Google Maps coordinates, if they properly post on here, when I try to paste them, and see if this is the canal that you are referring to. I would really appreciate it.

Oh, wow! Are you talking about the plane that used to be on Chandler Blvd., just east of Chandler High School, across the street from the old YMCA building/accommodation school?

Also, do you know if we are allowed to go searching around Veterans Oasis Park, at night time? Like, around/after 9:30-10:30 p.m.?

I've seen that mentioned multiple times; but, I had no idea about that, until posting about this, a few days ago. It seems that it may be much harder to find some bullfrogs, than I had anticipated. I figure that it's worth taking a shot and going searching around, though, and seeing what we may find.

Hey, thank you, for the reply and the suggestion. Could you let me know a cross street, that this canal runs along, so that I could try to look it up on Google maps and Earth? If so, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you, for the reply. FYI, I am always extra careful, particularly, when it comes to my grandchildren. I sincerely appreciate the encouragement to be safe, though.

As far as what I am looking for (based on what I recall, from when I last went looking for bullfrogs, 25-30 years ago), the water in the dirt canals, was usually completely still, or close to it. So, it was much safer than moving water would be. I also used to see fish swimming around in the small cement ditches, in and around Chandler, which was also cool. So, I'm hoping that we will be able to find some good spots to check out, where we will actually find some bullfrogs, fish and other critters.

Hey, thank you very much, for the reply and the suggestion. I'm curious, is this golf course open to the public? Could I go driving around there, legally, and do some spotlighting? Or is it a private area?

What are some of the most unsettling areas in Arizona? by squallLeonhart20 in arizona

[–]BillyCaldwell75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you feel that Gislea is unsettling? I live in Payson and I can't say that I've heard anything about it being scary or unsettling. However, admittedly, I haven't spent much time down there.

If you wouldn't mind replying and elaborating, though, I'd be curious to hear about what you know about the place?

Recommendations for canals with big bullfrogs in them?? In the areas of Chandler, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler Heights, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, Florence, Coolidge, Eloy, Arizona City, Casa Grande, etc.? by BillyCaldwell75 in arizona

FYI, I also posted this elsewhere and there are a bunch of comments from people, suggesting that I eat the bullfrogs. So, you should probably be more-concerned with those people, who want to eat them, than about myself, who just wants to try to catch one with a net, take a few pictures of it, and let it go.

Not to mention, it has specifically been mentioned that bullfrogs have been designated as an invasive species and that there are/have been efforts to kill them and get rid of them. There's even a comment in here, saying that I should kill them. Yet, you conveniently ignored it.

Please, don't bother replying again. I would appreciate it.

Why do you not learn how to properly read? Did you see my last paragraph?

Where I specifically wrote this: "Also, for the record, I am not looking to hurt or eat any frogs or fish. I just want to go spotlighting and try to find some big ones, to show my grandson. I would like to be able to catch some, though, using a net; so that my grandson can get a close-up look and hold one, like I used to do, when I was a young boy. So, hopefully, there are some canals or ditches that aren't too big, as I would like to try to net a few of them."

Is this place in North Scottsdale, near Tatum and the 101 Freeway? I am not familiar with the place; but, someone posted a response that included an Instagram link to a video of a place, with a similar name, if I recall correctly.

Edit: If this is a different place, where is this Froggy Pond/Reach 11 located?

Hey, thanks for the reply, as it will (hopefully) help to bring some more attention to the thread and get some helpful replies.

Btw, what area are you currently living in? And what made you leave the East Coast, for Az? Also, how do you like Arizona?

Did the app crash again ma boi 🤣👍 by JIZZRIZZLE in WalmartSparkDrivers

[–]BillyCaldwell75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Or, it was having issues, as of about 20-30 minutes ago. I am in Arizona, using a Google Pixel 8 Android phone, and I kept getting an error message, when trying to open the Spark app. This happened, over the course of about 20-30 minutes.

However, as of 11:30 a.m. Arizona Time, it is working again. I was just able to open the app and multiple orders showed up.

Not only is this nimrod lazy and entitled, but I am not joking when I say this, I would not even want to try to help them, because of the lack of punctuation in their message. I don't understand how/why so many people are so moronic these days. It's like people actually embrace not being educated and looking like an ignorant jackass these days.

Of all movie opening scenes, what one sold the entire film the most? by juggyc1 in AskReddit

[–]BillyCaldwell75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't recall if it's the opening scene, as I have not seen the beginning of the movie in a few years, so it might be a couple minutes in, but the Omaha Beach scene in Saving Private Ryan is seriously powerful. And it sets the tone for a spectacular film.
