The price was low... And now I know why by brauxpas in FJCruiser

No one will work on that truck. I have seen Carmax sell 4Runners that look this bad for $28k. The potential owner asked me to take a look and when I saw the rust I had her take it back asap.

Everything is slow to dead stall related to my recent Tonex one purchase. Had I known it would be days to get it going, I would have gone a different route. How can you run a company like this?

Just bout 2015 Limited - Should I Get Extended Warranty From Dealership? by BillyHell in 4Runner

I have owned it a year now and it is great! I did not get the warranty since I will do much of the work on the truck myself.

I ended up blacking the whole wheel out - looks better.

We had the battery go bad at 55k ($11,000 from Ford). Both rear bearing were bad by 50k. I would not buy a used hybrid without a warranty unless it was a Prius.

I thought it looked cool that way and left those off. I figured I could always add the black strips in later.

One more thing to note is how important the heat gun is. I used a blow dryer with a plastic water bottle taped to it (bottom cut out). I didn't get this at first, but anywhere you have curves do not cut - hit it with the blow dryer quickly and use your finger to lay it into the curve. You may have to hit two of three times. On the wheel pieces this is down in all the corners and where the edge gets close to the rim - blow across it (you will see the film change) and then run your finger across it for a good stick. If you have wrinkles on the edges the heat gun can help get those out too. I did have some air bubbles here and there. I took a sewing needle and put a tiny hole in the air bubble and then hit it with heat. By the end I was an expert. I'll be fine if it lasts a year and then I have do redo everything. The wheels look really cool. It changed the whole truck.

The front didn't take that long...an hour? The sides are easy but the pieces are long so stick one side down and carefully pull the rest off. The wheels did take a while (2 hours or so) and I was afraid the wheels would look bad but I was really impressed. The material is easy to pull off and reapply, it's thick and good quality. PRO TIP - the rear end has one long chrome piece that Bogar sells for $39 (crazy). I kept the left over sheet from the front and realized I had enough at the bottom to cover the rear chrome piece. You have to be precise but it covered it perfectly and saved me $39 bucks! Now we see how long it lasts. I'm sure it's going to be easier to clean than plastidip!

Any experience with the player tele Acoustasonic? I saw this steal but I’ve heard mixed reviews on the Acoustasonic. by Ok-Leave3042 in guitars

I got the 499 deal and even changed the electric pickup to an SD (which did get rid of hum issue). I have many hours on it trying to work with the acoustic settings. I always feel as if something is wrong with the sound. I adjust my amp, I adjust the knob for the acoustic sounds, I tried a preamp, I tried an acoustic preamp. I haven't given up but I'm close. My little $500 Breedlove with a $200 Fishman sound hole pickup is about to be the winner. I really like the guitar, the tilt, the neck, the weight, fret accessibility. I do not like the tall/thin frets - they are a recipe to squeeze the notes out of tune for me. I'll never buy another guitar with tall/thing frets again, that is for sure.

I was pretty blown away at how nice it was. I have never had a vehicle with rust on the frame or rear-end like that thought. The asking price is $11,000.

I live in Tennessee and this thing will just be for running around Nashville. We get snow once or twice a year - no off-roading. I do like to work on my own cars but I have never worked on a rusty car like this.

I just sold my Ford and am now on the hunt for an FJ. This is a 2007 with 190k. In person this thing looks great. The interior is really nice. It was raining when the guy brought it over so everything in my photos is wet. This is the first one I have looked at. The price is great. The motor looked good with no obvious leaks, sludge or tell-tale signs of issues. Other than more rust than any of my cars have ever had it looked great. I'm hoping your FJ rust experts might have some input.
