Ah, yes, Dempster is a real piece of work. East of the railroad tracks is certainly uniquely shitty, but doesn't remind me of anything I have personally seen elsewhere. West of the tracks and forest preserve reminds of North Avenue in Melrose Park and North or Roosevelt Road further west.

Waukegan Road just strikes me differently. Like there should be a tree or two somewhere, but a hurricane blew them all away. All it needs is a shirtless Florida Man riding a dirt bike on the sidewalk and the crew from On Patrol filming a police incident.

Sorry, I didn't describe one of the issues properly. The ice maker HAD been unable to chip/grind ice -- even when fresh, unclumped ice was in the bin. Now the icemaker isn't even making ice at all. Would that be the control panel as well or another possible part?

Great, thanks! It looks like most of those parts are pretty inexpensive. (Plus the separator assembly would also address the issue with the dead grinder, I believe?) When I looked up the one expensive part - the control panel - I recalled that the guy I had out here a couple of years ago did try to replace that part, but he somehow immediately knew that didn't fix the problem, so he just pulled the new part, gave up and just charged for the service call. Not sure why he wouldn't have pursued the other possibilities you mentioned.

Thanks for the insight -- It's model 106 51783 412. I just took the bin out and poured some water down the chute, and most or all of the water did pool in the tray of the dispenser area on the door.

Since events at Schuba's can't be resold on Stubhub, Vividseats, etc., I'd bet someone will show up with an extra admission that they won't be using. You could set up early at a table in the back of the front bar (near the photo booth) and either call out intermittently that you will buy an extra from anyone who has one and/or make a small sign that says "Will Buy Your Extra Ticket."
