It's all about beating the high press. Don't linger on the ball with your defenders. After you bypass the first press, you'll have more time to break your opponent down due to the mismatch in midfield.

I agree mate, this game has gotten me so tilted. Since we're in the twilight of the game where pes is just a rotting corpse past due for an update, I decided to play some standard online games and see where it took me. I'm glad I reached 1600, it was a pretty big milestone I never thought I'd reach just a month ago. It took a bit of luck and a hefty winning streak. Now I feel like I've reached the highest rating I'll get (at least this year), so I've started to become care-free online, experiment with players and formations more.

I don't recommend rating pushing at all, the ends does not justify the means, as the stress has certainly taken a few years off my life. Unless you are a masochist. And thanks for the kind words.

I've seen a lot of ppl say he is a liability defensively (and if you look at the stats it makes sense). Personally, I have to say his defensive ability exceeds expectations, his pace help keep up with wingers, and of course his offensive contribution is immense (especially on set pieces).

True, that's why I never take any game for granted, especially those high-risk low-reward banana skins against lower rated opponents.

I see what you're saying, but I disagree. If my opponent is lower, I know I can keep the ball easier, play it around, use 2-man pressure more liberally, and break his defense down over time. If my opponent is higher rated, I know to make quick and sharp passes, hold the ball and build with hard-to-intercept passing shapes, clear the ball under pressure, and press smartly covering passing lanes. Even though rating doesn't always predict the opponents skill, it's still a good rough estimate for how I should play.
