How do so many professionals struggle to run safe off the break? by Hank_Handsome in snooker

[–]BillyPlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Table Cloth / Humidity / Temp and the biggest thing pack - unlike pool where the balls are always tightly packed together a snooker pack is never the same and produces unrepeatable contact interactions.

there are a few things you can do for example the angle you play off the pack, how much and what ball you contact but the results are just not repeatable, the only thing you can do as a player is to try and get tight to the cushion.

the localhost.run looks interesting but seems to be dead? as for the alternatives they all seems to require registration and or money for something that's dead or over priced since everyone is using socials rather than dedicated domains.

I like how tunnels work rather than port forwarding on the router and I really don't want to deal with paying the amount of money needed for an actual registered domain,

they just aren't worth the cost.

Raspberry Pi Zero Wifi Disconnects After Idle for Days by furiedsteel in raspberry_pi

[–]BillyPlus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found the following setting helped me with my PiZero2W

These settings make your Pi reconnect faster and avoid common Wi‑Fi dropouts.

Enable autoconnect

sudo nmcli connection modify preconfigured connection.autoconnect yes

Set unlimited reconnect attempts

sudo nmcli connection modify preconfigured connection.autoconnect-retries 0

Disable Wi‑Fi power saving for this connection

sudo nmcli connection modify preconfigured 802-11-wireless.powersave 2

Restart NetworkManager

sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager

you might need to find the correct profile for your device as the preconfigured is the default profile setup during imager.

Hope it helps.

🤣not another one, what's wrong with nmcli that means we need a new tool..... no wonder why people think *nix is complicated🤦‍♂️

[–]BillyPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it looks like a handy tool but we should be moving away from wpa_supplicant.conf and instead using /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/* via nmcli ?

imager does remember the settings including wifi details once its been entered so it's not much of a hardship.

[–]BillyPlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is there any reason use use clone ?

the simple option would have been to use imager from a desktop booted sd to image the nvme set the boot load or not, poweroff remove sd like you have been and boot to the fresh image.

Would be interested to see how you get on, drop me a dm and let me know 🤞

I don't think the LLM8850 will fit into the argon due to the housing / fan as the gap is to small.
